My all-time favorite mesmer build. Apart from its innate ability to solo champions even with berserker gear, this build is incredibly fun to play. There is a kind of primal joy in summoning an actual army of phantasms to attack your foes. For maximum summoning power you should probably run signet of ether, otherwise well of eternity is a better heal skill.

One of my favorite builds for open world, Chrono Phantasms provides a very strong generalist build capable of completing nearly any content on its own. It brings its own boon support, which is always a big deal in open world, and its many versatile defensive options allow a skilled player to practically waltz through everything from chain farming to bounty solos. It is a difficult build to play to its full effectiveness, so players should be aware of that before they pick it up, but putting in the time to learn Chrono can be very rewarding.

Few things to note... Firstly, you should ALWAYS run with illusions in open-world unless you have an external source of quickness, it is higher damage over dueling when using greatsword with domination (except for very bursty fights where timewarp will suffice), although you will want pack runes to share back fury to yourself through persistence of memory. Secondly, always bring Signet of Ether to spawn more phantasms, it's better to use a cleansing sigil on one of your weapons than bring well of eternity. Now on to a rating... Power Chronomancer is, in my opinion, one of the strongest builds for open-world. It has incredible burst damage, good sustained damage, fantastic self-buff potential, and you can easily solo champions by staying on greatsword longer. I have no idea why Mirage is rated higher for open world, it's objectively worse for everything except perhaps soloing difficult enemies.

Nearly unkillable! I run this with Inspiration/Dueling/Chrono, Well of Eternity, Mantra of Distraction, Blink, Well of Precognition and Well of Gravity, Mesmer runes, Sigils of Force and Strength on swords and a wardrobe of mostly zerker with a little bit of marauder. It gives the idea that it's a mostly defensive build (and it is) but has a decent damage output due to alacrity recharging everything at almost twice the speed and when pairing your bursts with a daze due to mesmer runes Decent mobility, unparalleled defiance bar destruction, conditions are a nonexistent problem and of course due to inspiration traitline you also bring somewhat good group support. Same goes for Fractals and Dungeons without really changing anything on the build. So far i've been able to solo most open world content and the build is a lot of fun on solo and group play. 5/5 easy

One of THE best builds for soloing difficult content, this build has extremely good sustained damage while also bringing Chronomancer utility.

I quite like this, however I run with Runes of Mesmer instead for the extra CC.

I think with some adjustments you could push out more damage with this build. Nevertheless this is solid throughout with tons of self boons, CC and defenses even when you don't gear for it. I'd recommend GS over Staff for tagging as the laser autos are faster and more reliable than Staff autos in squads since Staff autos prioritize allies over enemies and most of GS's reportior is AoE and lower in CD as well. I'd also like to add that Signet of Ether has tons of passive healing as every Phantasm cast will heal you for 1050 HP and every clone summon heals you for 350, if you choose to value survivability over its damage option in a given moment. I also see Phantasmal Defender as a must for open world soloing as it provides a nice defensive and CC option as well as good AoE damage. They can tick for 15k damage at a time against a large mob.
