Overview

This build provides 100% Quickness and Alacrity uptime for a dungeon or fractal party, significantly increasing group damage, support, and healing output. It also helps with uptime of boons like Fury, Vigor, Stability, Retaliation, etc via
, and can strip boons easily if no Spellbreaker is available.
While the basic build drastically increases the group's damage output, it allows a lot of modifications to adapt to every situation and provide more defensive utilities for the group if necessary.

Specializations

Chronomancer has many viable traitlines that are useful in different situations. You should be aware of all of these traitlines and swap between them depending on the requirements of your group and the encounter.

Domination/Inspiration

Domination/Inspiration is the most forgiving build for quickness/alacrity uptime and the easiest for new Chrono players. It offers more personal distortion and shared aegis from
, which can be useful for avoiding boss mechanics like MAMA's spin. However, it has very low DPS.

Variants

  • can be used for inexperienced groups or high-pressure fights.

Dueling/Inspiration

Dueling/Inspiration provides almost twice as much damage as Domination/Inspiration while maintaining good uptime on quickness and alacrity. If you run this, it's recommended to have a
on one of your weapons to jump-start quickness.

Variants

  • for group healing at the cost of DPS.
  • if you don't have
    and need a source of quickness. This is a significant DPS loss.

Chaos/Inspiration

Chaos/Inspiration provides even less DPS than Domination/Inspiration, but shares stability with every
, which makes it a strong choice on CC heavy fights. It also provides a large variety of boons with
which provide a damage increase to every Weaver, Deadeye, or core Guardian in your party and can offset the personal damage loss.
Note that this variant has a slightly different gear setup due to the extra boon duration gained from
. While you can still play Chaos with the normal gear setup, you will overcap boon duration and have a lot of wasted stats that reduce your potential damage.

Dueling/Illusions

Dueling/Illusions grants the highest possible DPS at the cost of quickness/alacrity uptime. In longer fights, you have to lean heavily on

There are many variations of gear for chronomancer and some of them can be difficult to acquire, however they all share a common goal in their stat choices which is to reach as close as possible to 100% boon duration while under the effect of
. These gear selections assume you will be gaining extra boon duration from having 150 agony resistance and the Fractal Mobility Potion - if you don't have that combination you will be below 100%.

Usage

Choosing a Traitline

  • Run Domination/Inspiration if you're new, or if you anticipate your teammates moving around a lot and not standing in your wells.
  • Run Chaos/Inspiration if you need Stability Stability, or if you don't have a Druid and need the boon support, or if you have multiple Weavers that benefit from the increased burst damage.
  • Run Dueling/Illusions if CC is not important and/or you expect the fight to be short.
  • Run Dueling/Inspiration or Illusions/Inspiration if none of the above apply.

Rotation

The main role of Support Chronomancer is to provide permanent quickness and alacrity to your subgroup. You can provide these boons directly with the following skills:

. You should constantly be sharing out these boons with the following skills:
  • Any phantasm to proc
When you weapon swap, you have a 7 second window in which
activates and gives you 100% boon duration. Thus, the Chronomancer rotation is based on lining up all your boon sharing skills to fall inside this window.
Once all your boon sharing skills are on cooldown, just deal DPS with
, phantasms, and autoattack chains until your skills are available again.

General Tips

  • Weapon swap constantly, and always remember to weapon swap before sharing boons. It's better to delay your boon-sharing skills rather than cast them without
    active.
  • Remember to press your shatters to proc
    (and
    if traited).
  • Proper well placement is crucial for boon uptime. Make sure you throw your wells where your teammates will be standing, not under your own feet. As a general rule of thumb, you should throw wells at the boss, as your party should be stacking in melee range.
  • and
    only provide boons when they expire, 3 seconds after the initial cast. Make sure
    is active when this happens.
  • The cooldown of
    is the same as
    , so you can keep track of it by simply chaining these skills together off cooldown.
  • While not mandatory, you can also use

Domination/Inspiration Specific Tips

  • reduces the cooldown of both

    , which makes the Domination/Inspiration rotation fairly lenient.
  • You can delay

    if you need to distort a specific mechanic. This may cause you to briefly drop boons, but it's better than dying because you failed to distort something.

Chaos/Inspiration Specific Tips

  • In addition to your normal role of sharing quickness and alacrity, you can also share stability and a ton of boons from
    . Just press all your shatters off cooldown and you'll share these boons every time you cast
    or
    .
  • In some cases you might want to save
    or
    to deal with specific mechanics. Don't worry too much about this, as you should already have permanent regeneration and fury with a good Druid.

Dueling/Illusions Specific Tips

  • In realistic situations, this build can't maintain permanent quickness and alacrity by itself. You should only play it if you're confident that you can burst down all enemies before your boons expire.
  • You don't have to worry about
    as you aren't running the Inspiration traitline.
  • Precast
    and
    if possible for minimum downtime on quickness and alacrity as the fight starts.

Continuum Split

  • is a very powerful skill for boon uptime. While in
    , you can cast any of your boon-sharing skills, including
    , "for free" without expending a cooldown. Use
    to double up on boonsharing whenever possible.
    • It's worth delaying skills by a few seconds if
      is coming off cooldown.
    • You should save your clones if you're going to
      soon so that you can get a longer

      is helpful for generating clones here.
    • Remember that
      also makes you teleport to your original location when it ends. Be wary of your positioning when using it. Abort it if it's going to kill you on the return teleport (e.g. teleporting you off the platform on Arkk).

  • In organized groups the Warrior usually solos the marble, but in a pinch you can also do marbles without losing too much group DPS. Just remember to do your boonshare rotation before you leave.

The utility value of this build is wonderful. Maintains a respectable DPS and has good survivability with evades. This is however one of the more difficult builds to play if you struggle to use phantasms effectively.
