Scepter is a very good mid-ranged weapon. The AA will deal around 450-500 damage on non-crit and 1k damage when it crits. Rely on the AA to keep constant DPS on your target. Pay attention to your opponent’s movements, and if they’re strafing so your AA misses, adjust your movement properly. Either get in closer or strafe to one direction, so your hits have a higher chance of connecting. You can use 2 to give allies might or to quickly damage enemies. If your enemy is moving away from your traps, use 2 to force your enemy to talk in the direction of them. Make sure you don’t use 3 while an enemy is evading or blocking. This skill is great for setting up opportunities to burst with GS 3 and scepter 2. You will be able to kite enemies well once you master this weapon.


Use focus 4 when you expect any type of burst coming that you can’t kite. 5 can either serve as a burst skill or a block, depending on how well you use it. The blast finisher aspect should not be ignored. If you have a thief on your team, make use of their pistol 5 blind field by activating your focus 5 on it. When fighting other Guardians, use scepter 2 to quickly remove aegis and focus 5 from them.


You should only switch to GS when you have the ability to quickly deal damage and get out of combat without risking immediate death. If an enemy was just downed that’s a perfect time to switch to GS and cleave their body or pull enemies away from their downed ally. Use 3 over a light field to gain light aura. You can use scepter 2 to have a light field ready for when you swap.

Think outside of the box when fighting your opponent. Your skills serve multiple purposes. Don’t limit yourself to using them one way. One wrong skill use can cost you an ally – or a fight.


  • Enemies that can apply a lot of conditions will be an issue. Do not waste CoP on small condi bursts. If you have chill on you and a condi burst is coming, convert it or wait for the condis to land on you, then use CoP to convert the condis to boons. This build gives you a lot of condition removal. All blocks, your utility heal, F2, focus 4, SC, and CoP all remove conditions. Use them wisely...
