Overview

The standard condition DPS build for Engineer. This build deals very high sustained damage against stationary enemies, including some Confusion Confusion and a massive amount of Vulnerability Vulnerability. It also has a lot of utility through easy access to Blind Blind and Immobilize Immobilize and group healing with Healing Turret.png Healing Turret.
The main drawback of this build is its ridiculously complex quadruple kit rotation which requires lots of practice to master. It also has poor cleave and loses a lot of damage if the boss moves out of Napalm.png Napalm.

DPS Rotation

Engineer has a lot of skills, the DPS rotation depends heavily on your alacrity uptime. The general idea is to always use your highest damage skills off cooldown, and fill with lower priority skills while waiting for your cooldowns to recharge.

Simplified Rotation

The simplified rotation offers an easier-to-memorize rotation at the cost of losing ~10% potential damage. This rotation is recommended as a way to get into condi engineer.

General Tips

  • Healing Turret.png Healing Turret provides great sustain for your team, able to heal 5 people for a significant amount and curing 2 conditions on each every 15-20 seconds.
    • You can pick the turret up for a 5 second cooldown reduction, or use Detonate Healing Turret.png Detonate Healing Turret for a blast finisher.
    • When choosing to Detonate Healing Turret.png Detonate Healing Turret you should do so during Cleansing Burst.png Cleansing Burst for a blast in the created water field.
    • Never leave your Healing Turret out, the regeneration heals for a very small amount and is redundant with the regeneration from your Druid.
  • Use Detonate Flame Blast.png Detonate Flame Blast right after the ball rolls through your target, so you can hit with both the pass-through damage and the detonation.
  • Streamlined Kits.png Streamlined Kits procced with Elite Mortar Kit.png Elite Mortar Kit drops a small field that applies random conditions 6 times, this is a DPS increase.

Dungeon/Fractal Tips

Running

  • Swap to Rocket Boots.png Rocket Boots for additional movement speed if you know you wont be put into combat in the next 20 seconds.
  • Equip a Rifle and use Jump Shot.png Jump Shot for additional movement.
    • You can swap to a kit and back to rifle before the end of the leap to increase the leap distance slightly and to cancel the damage upon landing to avoid being put into combat.
  • Swap to Elixir Gun.png Elixir Gun and use Acid Bomb.png Acid Bomb in reverse for additional movement.
  • These skills will put you in combat if you hit enemies, which will negate any advantage from using them, so avoid using them when there's enemies close.

Stealth

  • Use Smoke Bomb (engineer).png Smoke Bomb in combination with blast finisher skills such as Big Ol' Bomb.png Big Ol' Bomb Orbital Strike.png Orbital Strike Detonate Healing Turret.png Detonate Healing Turret Flame Blast.png Flame Blast Magnetic Inversion.png Magnetic Inversion

    • Note that Sneak Gyro.png Sneak Gyro is usually too slow to keep up with the party, but the initial 4 seconds of stealth in combination with Toss Elixir S.png Toss Elixir S should stealth the party for long enough.
    • After you're done with skipping you can swap out Sneak Gyro.png Sneak Gyro with Elite Mortar Kit.png Elite Mortar Kit while it's still active to avoid waiting for it to recharge.

One of the strongest condition damage classes at the moment. Provides heavy vulnerability and a large number of unique conditions for Deadeyes in addition to strong personal DPS.

The July 10 of 2018 patch update gave this build a breath of air, giving it more decent numbers to peform with, 30k dps at simplified rotation, 33K with the complex one, and if we include the ~2-3k dps average from the confusion, condi engineer is back.
