Specializations
Variants
- for a faster combo. Make sure to use Elixir B before the combo for more crits.
Variants
Tools can replace Inventions:
- You gain increased movement speed and more anti-CC traits with this variant. However, you lose some passive regen survivability.
Equipment

Variants
Rune
- - You will lose consistent might stacks with this for invulnerability at 25% hp.
Usage
Combo:
- Air Blast ⇒ Flame Blast ⇒ Switch to Rifle ⇒ Over Charged Shot (you will not be knocked back because of the stability) ⇒ Net Shot ⇒ Jump Shot ⇒ Blunderbuss
- Use Elixir S if you need that hard stomp or need to get away.
- Be the first to stomp your enemies. Your perma stability and on demand blind makes you a perfect choice for first hand stomping.
- Drink Elixir B and Toss Elixir H whenever possible for the extra might. You need it for the dps.
- Make sure to pick up med kits to heal up.
- Mortar kit provides plenty of fields and utility. You can use Poison Gas Shell on downed enemies to slow down a res. You can drop an Ice Field or water field to blast an Ice aura or some healing. You can drop a Blind field to create an anti melee field.
Counters
- Heavy CC and focus fire. This build can make you very arrogant to CC because of free stability. However, it is only one stack of stability. Another class can easily take away your stability by using more than 2 CC between 3 seconds and can leave you very vulnerable. Use Elixir B to stay alive.
- Heavy Conditions- Engineers are generally weak to condis. However, there are a ton of condi removal, thanks to elixirs.

- YouTube: 'The Juggernaut' Engineer WvW Build (Guild Wars 2)
Juggernaut's a really interesting trait. It promotes sitting in flamethrower to get long-lasting might and stability, which is very strong, but the damage from Flamethrower is still low, save for the 2 skill. I think Flamethrower kit on its own is worth taking occasionally as the 2-5 skills are fine, but sitting in it for Juggernaut feels like a deceptive trap.
+ Between protection injection, random Elixir H protection, and the pulsing blind field from Mortar Kit 4, the build is deceptively tanky.
+ On-demand stability.
- Still squishy though and vulnerable to focus, especially with only Elixir S as a temporary breather skill. I'm really not fond of Backpack Regen as a trait for glass cannon, as healing traits like those have low value in low toughness/healing power builds whose goals isn't to win long fights.
- The damage output is good, but not any better than grenades/tool kit. Sure, you have more might stacks, but in exchange for those stacks, you're using (and possibly sitting in) the flamethrower kit. In exchange, you lose out on solid traits and utilities. On-demand stability is very good, but it isn't permanent unless you swap to flamethrower kit constantly on the 3rd second, and isn't worth the loss of all of the utility Tool Kit and damage grenade kit and explosives line offer.
I'll revisit the build after the balance patch which will buff Flamethrower's damage, but I have low expectations.
