Variants

Stats Any mix of Marauder's or Berserker's should suffice, Marauder's will cost you some burst but give you more survivability and is recommended for players less comfortable with the glassy high risk/high reward of this build. It is entirely possible to run full Berserker's but you will be weaker and require more awareness and good reflexes.

Usage

General

Setting up your burst

  • Dazing and interrupting foes applies Vulnerability Vulnerability - this makes even stronger. Learn to set up a Diversion chain:
  • You can set up burst by building up 20-25 stacks of Vulnerability on your target (at the price of wasting a very strong CC). To unleash Diversion's full potential, always try to position your clones in a way that they don't hit your target at the same time - Vulnerability can stack, but Daze Daze cannot stack - however you can land multiple consecutive dazes if you do it right.

Sword

  • isn't only for dealing damage - it's your second, short CD which can be handy when you are expecting a burst but ran out of dodges.
  • The chain skill of , is one of your key skills. You can Immobilize Immobilize the target so he can't dodge your burst - the shorter version is simply using the Swap Blurred Frenzy Mind Wrack combo. But you can also switch weapons after the Immob to Greatsword and land a much more significant burst.

Greatsword burst:

  • Stand close to your target for max damage and have at least 2 clones up (also near to your opponent - it's enough if you have 2 clones because Mirror Blade will summon a clone anyways).
  • Use and simultaneously, immediately followed by a .
  • If your enemy's trying to heal after your burst, use to interrupt it.
  • Use before or after the burst, it's up to you.

Escape

does NOT interrupt any skill cast, there for you can use and Blink to make the enemey lose your tracks, followed by or for more stealth.

Weaknesses

  • Heavy Condition pressure when not running Inspiration.
  • Very glassy.

Fun with good damage, easy to assemble, but burst is predictable and mobiliy could be better.

Phantasmal bers buff kills it a bit because it now reveals the mesmer.

Been having a lot of fun going full glass on this build and literally 100-0ing thieves (my mortal enemy) before they can react! Although the build doesn't offer much sustain damage if the burst fails, the sheer satisfaction you get when you instantly down an unsuspecting individual is downright addictive. Overall an incredibly fun build and I highly recommend it to any ganking/stealth assassin lovers or those who just want to hunt thieves

A good build, hard one to master. It's good for roaming and single target focus.

Sometimes it might be good to switch Mental Anguish for Power Block, if you are using Mantra of Distraction for an interrupt.

A good thing to have with the build is about 2300 armor (someone told me, since HoT came out, it's better to have 2700 armor, but i find that a lot, and sacrifices a lot of offense), which gives you some survival. Rest of stats berserk.

If you like roaming, focusing on single targets and don't have Chronomancer unlocked, I recommend this build.

Another outdated build at a point in time where literally every decent guild is using boonshare mesmers or mantra gank and not PU.

This is a fantastic build. You basically play like a sniper - stay in the backline and spam 2-3-4 and F1 and literally blow people up in one rotation. When the fight gets too close, you have interrupts on 5 and F3, then 3 forms of stealth to escape, and the longest blink in the game. In solo roaming, you can basically choose every fight you want or don't want to engage in, and you can keep constant pressure up with your dodge clones. All in all, very fun and quite strong.

One of the strongest builds right now. Excellent burst and engage/disengage options, bit weak against condi damage but mesmers got used to that long ago.
