Usage

General

  • Lack of makes this Mesmer build unique. For shatters you'll rely even more on clones created by weapon skills.
  • Your main source of damage comes from proccing with your various interrupts. This trait also puts the interrupted skill on a high CD which can be used to lock out important abilities.
  • Daze Daze you apply will instead Stun Stun the target (this has a 5 sec CD). Note: a 2nd Daze can override Stun, keep this in mind when using which could potentially cause a chain of 4 dazes (or 1 Stun and then 3 Dazes).

Setting up your burst

  • Secure bursts by stunning the target with - also increases damage dealt by 3% for each mantra charge consumed, further increasing your damage after the stun. Using once or twice before bursting can also pay off, but don't waste your heal if you are already on max HP because that can backfire. Try to interrupt skills with your CCs as the damage from Power Block is a crucial part of your burst.
  • In smaller fights try not to shatter after using - this phantasm usually gets dodged when summoned, but a couple seconds later it'll attack again, if you can lock your enemies into this attack and then execute a combo simultaneously that could mean the end of the encounter.

  • Avoid recharging when engaging a high damage enemy with many interrupts (notably thieves and other mesmers). Casting important skills inside is always a good idea.

I've brought it back from the archives to provide something for F2P users interested in PvP. Nowhere near as effective as a chronomancer, but it has a strong burst combo, boon stripping, and a bunch of CCs.

This is quite effective - It deals lots of damage from long range and yet tends to be better at contesting a point than other mesmer marauder builds (Not saying much, I know). Advantages are exceptional condition removal & better sustained healing, but a typically less devastating offense.

Not really relevant for conquest or meta things in general, but I think it pulls ahead of regular shatter in deathmatch if portal is swapped for mantra of pain - offers significant sustained healing.
