Maybe it never coalesced into something brilliant. Maybe it never made it off the ground floor. Maybe we based our better ideas off of it. Basic builds are anywhere from downright bad to just shy of being good enough to showcase. These builds share the widest ratings and can lead to wildly differing levels of success.

Specializations

Variants replace with Can't find such trait "Vigorous Training"! Please refer to our trait index or is up to you if you don't choose warhorn in the offhand

Variants replace with if you want more control and defensive via taunt or for more offensive power with might and quickness. I prefer the Axe Trait for more AoE Cleavedamage and Chill. Personal Preference, every Grandmaster Trait will work here.

Usage of the Build

Like mentioned in the overview we have a good mobility with this build. Keep that always in mind and have an eye on the minimap to help Teammates and make use of opportunities like empty farpoints, secondary objectives and overextended offpoint player.

Keep the boons up on your Teammates, stack them especially at the beginning of a match.

Engage an enemy who is vulnerable or targeted by your team with Greatsowrd and your Tiger. Try to Initiate with your Furious-Maul Combo and Spike Enemies. During the fight keep your Autoattackchain going, the other weaponskills are only used if required.

The Furious-Maul Combo

This Combo makes use of the Synergy between

Remorseless Remorseless
Trait VIII.pngRemorseless
Regain opening strike whenever you gain fury. Your opening strike deals 25% more damage

and the many Sources of Fury especially from Furious Pounce Furious Pounce which now always crits and the increased Pet damage by

If timed correctly your Tiger jumps at the target with a guaranteed critical hit and stacked damage from the skills and traits. Your Maul should hit right after the Pounce of the Tiger which gives Fury and your Maul the Bonus damage of the regained opening strike with remorseless.

Practice makes perfect and try to improve your timing at the Golems in the Mists.

You regain the opening strike from remorseless even if you still have Fury on you. Always hard to see but it works, especially

Two-Handed Training Two-Handed Training
Trait V.pngTwo-Handed Training
Greatsword and spear damage is increased by 5% and those skills recharge 20% faster. Greatsword and spear hits have a 50% chance to gain 3s of fury. This trait has a 10 second internal cooldown.

makes profit of that.

Use your Bear as a shield, but be nice to her outside of the combat.

Axe in a power build, Sigil of Accuracy, Warhorn. Beastmastery has 2 amazing traits, you picked the 3rd.

I don't know if beastmaster is the right name for this build since pets aren't a big component of the damage compared the old beastmasters that ran cats and birds and the newer ones that run Smokescale and Bristleback, but the Tiger's low cooldown Furious Pounce+Remorseless combo is a really cool idea. I have a few major, major gripes with this build though.

I get that condition removal is kind of a problem for this build, but I am extremely unconvinced by the brown bear. I used it and it's potency in fights is so much worse than Smokescale (consistent DPS, good burst, low CD CC) or Bristleback (consistent ranged DPS, insane burst).

I really don't like the sigils of accuracy on either weapon. You have so many sources of fury for guaranteed crits with Remorseless and a crit rate of 70%+ normally already as it is. Why would you not run Sigil of Air, which is huge guaranteed damage spikes, on a power build with high crit chance? You don't have anything that procs on-crit, so why is that 7% extra crit important? It's a big damage decrease compared to air or even fire. Hydromancy is ok-ish on power builds, but those sigils of accuracy really need to go.

As an aside, Allies's Aid is probably the best team revive trait in the game, and I don't think it's worth giving up for ~3-4% extra damage. Windbourne Notes isn't necessary either, you'll have permanent regen from Resounding Timbre and Fortifying Bonds.
