A Power Reaper build with some boon hate.

Skill Bar

Slot Changes

For the optional utility slot take something defensive:

  • adds another stun breaker and condition transfer.
  • provides condition cleansing which gets more effective in larger fights and applies Chill as an added bonus.
  • adds an additional stun breaker to the bar while mitigating damage through weakness and increasing your damage through Might stacking.
  • is good when facing Power based comps and can be used to trigger Dragonhunter traps or split the damage from skills like by increasing the body count through the minions.

  • Staff marks are unblockable and generate Life Force (LF).
  • and will provide AoE boon corruption while is an excellent emergency tool as it strips boons almost instantly even if the target is blocking.
  • There are only 2 options to fight conditions with:
    • which is an unblockable transfer that also deals decent Power based damage.
    • , a relatively long cast time healing skill. Make sure it does not get interrupted by using it either behind objects to block line of sight, while your enemy is CC'd, or when you have Stability on after leaving shroud/using the elite shout.
  • is an excellent tool for generating LF even in Reaper Shroud and also provides some damage mitigation.
  • - the frequent damage pulses are great for consuming Blindness, the Swfitness makes it easier to stick to the target while in Reaper's Shroud, and finally each strike also inflicts soft-CC in form of Cripple while generating additional LF.
  • can be used to bait out dodges by stowing your weapon right after starting to channel the skill in order to cancel it - it'll only go on a ~5s CD but the entire animation will play.

I use greatsword in place of staff. The gs#4 aoe pulsing blind enables superior survivability in group fights which you really need as necro since you will likely always get focused as the enemy knows you do not have any blocks/evades/invulnerabilities. Gs#5 is great for preventing escapes or pulling people off point enabling capture for your team mates, and it overall has the best lifeforece generation if you need to build it back up for shroud and the #1,2,3 all have really high damage especially since the recent patches increased it.

I normally hate playing power builds, especially when condi is still so strong, but I had to try this. I switched from procmancer to this build and I am very pleased. The only change I made (and this is a personal preference) is to use focus in my offhand instead of warhorn. I like the extra boon strip & chill, plus the regen/heal. It just makes good sense for me. Other than that, kept everything the same. Good stuff.

Awesome build. Its boon corruption can easily help take down classes such as guardians, warriors and revenants. And it's much more survivable which helps when being focused. I'ts also a viable 1v1 build and is a decent build for holding and capping points on your own. The Power wellomancer was nice for a time but this is much better.

The unholy feast buff made axe (and by extension) power reaper more viable. Solid damage with a decent amount of boon hate and okay sustain. Can easily confuse foes used to the popular condi reaper that's been running for the past few seasons. Paladin amulet can almost make this equal to the old Soldier's build in tankiness.

Amazing build for many reasons

1: Boon corruption. Is this meta of many boons being applied all around by guardians/mesmers/eles/revs you have very easy and amazing access to corrupting boons. Stab corruption is key to this build and works amazing to catch people off guard

2: infinite chill. This build features easy access to chills and possibly infinite chill. It is also multi target chill so its easy to get off.

3: Destroy stomping opportunities with mass boon corrupt

4: Easy to survive being focused with chill and corruption and elite skill. Better than proc mancer because you live far longer.

Overall an amazing build. I'm predicting this to rise to the top of the meta this month.
