Gear Breakdown

Stats

  • Unlike most PVE content, this build calls for Soldiers gear, as Tequatl cannot be critically hit. Any Precision or Ferocity added to a member of the Teq zerg are dead stats, which should be eschewed in favor of stats that can keep you alive. Soldiers gear is relatively cheap from wvwvw vendors, so a separate set should not be difficult to obtain.
  • Soldiers Jewelry is less easy to obtain, especially if only for this encounter. Berserkers jewelry will work if that's all you have.
  • Runes

    being on the Greatsword you will want to finish them off with it as often as possible.
  • You aren't married to Hammer for battery phases, but it's handy to be able to assist keeping them safe. Other options include Sword/Warhorn for the mobility during battery phases or Longbow for a ranged option and an immobilize during battery phases.
  • After the Batteries is the burn phases, you need to already be at the zerg before he lands and help build up might stacks. Look for reports of double hits and stack on those spots. Learn how to use summoned weapons and grab them jealously.

Final Thoughts

  • Rinse and repeat until you see a bony tail and a chest.

In conclusion: Using the build effectively is almost as important as either being on comms or constantly reading map chat for updates. To effectively do Tequatl you need to pay attention to map chat and the organizers for the encounter (typically the commander.)
