Engineer - Power Grenadier

I respect Wolfineer and builds he makes. But this is not the optimal Dungeon build for Engineer, something like this is much better. We should probably leave this build here and make a new page with the optimal build. Since this still isn't a bad build just not the best dungeon build. --DantesS_P (talk) 21:07, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Just checked the build on wolfineer's forum. It's mostly correct it's just this build page that's inconsistent. Probably better to just overhaul this page so it's optimal. --DantesS_P (talk) 21:11, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Well I don't play engi in PvE but as there were no engineer builds in the PvE section yet I wanted to upload something. Feel free to change anything. --Hanz (talk) 06:51, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Cleaned it up a bit[edit]

Removed might stacking sigils since you need to focus on group might. Especially with Engi it is possible to gain 21 stacks of might by yourself. I'm also going to add a few variants for newer players like swiftness on crit/vigor combo and runes of strength. --DantesS_P (talk) 15:06, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Foods[edit]

To cap vulnerability during boss fights with most party compositions you'll want food with +condition duration, preferably

Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Beans Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Beans

Nourishment (1 h):

Engineer dungeon build September/2014 update[edit]

Nike DnT Video Looks like not many changes to the build 2 traits, Flamethrower over Bomb, and Assassin over Berserker. But since Nike has now made a video hopefully Engis will start running better builds. I'm going to make the changes and remove Wolfineer's video because it wasn't optimal even pre patch. --Human icon.png Dantes (talk) 18:07, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

Utility boost[edit]

Is a Toxic Sharpening Stone not better than a Superior? You get almost exactly the same Power boost and another 10% Condi duration. The are, admittedly, twice the price, though.

Update[edit]

Updated the build to use Assassins weapons and

Fireforged Trigger Fireforged Trigger
Fireforged Trigger
Reduces recharge on flamethrower and elixir gun skills.
Book.pngRecharge Reduced: 20%

instead of

Rifle Mod Rifle Mod
Rifle Mod
Improves damage for the rifle and harpoon gun.
Damage.pngDamage Increase: 10%

for a simpler, higher DPS rotation with more access to blast finishers and fire fields. Also expanded the usage section with rotations and stuff. Ocirne (talk) 19:45, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Condi Aspect[edit]

Considering all the conditions that come from this build (and the possible increase of condi stacks in a future release), would Sinister gear be viable or is power/ferocity > condi damage? « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 01:21, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Siege rounds vs Shrapnel[edit]

500 dps worth of bleeds which take up to 20 seconds to reach the maximum dps is in no way better than siege rounds in any dungeon scenario. Most fights lasts shorter than 15 seconds and you need as much initial burst as possible. Besides that, having an extra blast finisher available does wonders for stacking might at the beginning of a fight, reaching 25 might faster (than with just a phalanx war). Orbital strike easily hits for 10k, double that with the trait. And finally, its advised by brazil (for what it's worth), and he even prioritizes Thermobaric Detonation over shrapnel, further signaling how bad it is. https://youtu.be/X-k-BLJiBbA?t=242 Ocirne (talk) 10:42, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Fair enough, but in longer fights shrapnel will be better, especially now with the bugged grenadier trait since shrapnel has no icd. Abe

From deleted power mortar build[edit]

Alch VS Tools

The point that you lose perm vigor (50% reg) when you trait in tools is clueless, since you trait on "Adrenal Implant", "Kinetic Charge" is nice, but you must evade, so you lose your 10% modifier and if you have a ele with Icebow you don't will get that evade. Plus you get "Optimized Activation" that grands 2s Vigor for every Toolbelt skill (atm its bugged, Vigor and Adrenal Implant doesn't stack).

To the HGH, yeah you lose the might, but in a good group you have a Phalanx Warrior that provides 25 might.

Firearms

Heavy Armor Exploit VS High Caliber

You dont need that extra vuln cause the most professions get a vul buf with the update so you dont need more than the 25 you get easily in every group. With High Caliber and Hermatic you get 20% krit chance + Fury 20% + Banner 8% + Spotter 7%; you reach 105% in 80 Dungeons with FULL Berserker gear, so DMG up.

I agree with all your points :) Ocirne (talk) 16:54, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Check video guide[edit]

User added a bad d/p pvp video which I removed. Please check if this video they added was helpful or not. I'm not familiar enough with engineer to decide « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 15:58, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Scrapper[edit]

Well, threw something together even though nobody really cares about dungeons anymore. http://metabattle.com/wiki/User:Ocirne/Engineer_-_Power_Grenadier_Scrapper

Since optimal team composition is different for every fractal, and so many traits/utilities are swapped out between encounters, there is not really much value in maintaining meta builds imo. Also, builds that are amazing at carrying pug groups are usually just mediocre in highly organized groups. Ocirne (talk) 17:58, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
