Hi, that setting is appropriate for many advanced players. If you watch pvp streams you'll see many top players using them. Esp in the pvp environment where maps are small and easily memorized the teleport locations are easy. The shoot locations are easy. If you fail to miss you can spam it again while running to quickly get it to work. Please do not revert it again. You can emphasize why novice is better for dungeons, but advanced is definitely an option for those that are well versed in the game mechanics and it is definitely faster. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:23, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

I get what you're saying. But just as an example, a couple of days ago I picked up a frost bow on my thief, snuck up on a full meta bunker guardian, used fb5 for freeze and immediately followed up with an FB4 line cast. 2 seconds later, a full bunker guardian was downed. Getting caught in a good line cast is more dangerous then getting spiked down by a full S/F elementalist, making a blanket statement about a setting that completely locks you out from using the single most devastating technique in game isn't something I can support. Perhaps I don't understand what "line casting" is, could you explain the mechanics of it in more depth? As far as I know I don't have this problem with instant casting (but I could be wrong) « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 06:22, 8 February 2015 (UTC) good beginners video for it. It's going to feel extremely quirky to start, but personally I can do this successfully, fast and in the exact area where I want it almost every single time I want to. Practice it a few hundred times or so and it becomes third nature. Blackie (talk) 12:35, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
This looks like an exploit to me. I always hesitate if i should put something borderline-exploit in a guide or not - when skill swapping was an option before a PvP match, I decided to add pre-match LF stacking to the usage of necro builds, but I did not add stow weapon LW to the D/D ele usage. I think we should not base guides on exploits but I have no idea if this one is accepted or not. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 14:09, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Nah, it's creative use of game mechanics. Definitely not an exploit, and it's used by top players in every game mode frequently. I'm not arguing it's not in a grey area, but it's not an exploit. One of the major differences here is stow weapons required a macro to be effective for instance, this just requires a well timed dodge. Blackie (talk) 14:37, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
It's probably not an exploit, Hanz -- FGS wasn't considered an exploit afterall. That was way worse than this. Anyhow, the day this becomes important in PvP, we'll have to update our page. Regardless fast and instant are semi-equal, we should update fast to sound almost as good as instant and in some cases (like line casting) it should be considered obviously superior to instant. Also depending on game mode, I can see why fast would be much better in dungeons for instance. And to be fair, a lot of top pvp players still use "fast". I find instant might be used more by specific classes perhaps. Thief definitely benefits from the faster teleports, I'm not sure about the rest « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:56, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, you nailed it. It's hard to make an edit about it though because the settings themselves are account specific. But the recommendations should be based off class. But even then, the whole idea of setting 1 being for newbies, setting 2 for novices and 3 for advanced is a bit off in the first place. I'm a very advanced player and I far prefer the Normal setting because it simply allows me increased control and it's more comfortable to use when skills 6 -> 10 are bound to shift+1 -> 5. That said, for some builds like for instance grenade engineer playing with "Normal" is absolutely horrible... Again, it's an account wide setting which REALLY shouldn't have been account wide. Okay, I'll try to change the wording so that all settings have a good use. I like the idea of mentioning advanced control « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 18:07, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
