Request Templates[edit]

On a somewhat related note, will we get request templates like PvX did? I mean stuff like move requests or even the ability to move pages ourselves. Zyke (talk) 23:48, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

I believe we have delete already set up:, but move was not something we implemented. I will look into that, though usually we haven't had too much trouble with that. Example of usage? « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:30, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
Request to move badly named builds or personal pages in the userspace for example. Zyke (talk) 06:15, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Template Update[edit]

I've nearly finished the full skill set for the daredevil templates as I have only 4 more staff skills and 2 more dodge abilities to add. I already added

Impaling Lotus Impaling Lotus
Impaling Lotus
Evade attacks and hurl damaging daggers, dealing multiple conditions to enemies.
Damage.pngDamage: 50
Bleed.pngBleeding (10s): 220 Damage
Torment.pngTorment (6s): 95 Damage, 191 Damage if Moving
Cripple.pngCrippled (3s): -50% Movement Speed
Book.pngNumber of Impacts: 3
Book.pngNumber of Targets: 3
Radius.pngMissile Radius: 600
Book.pngDistance Traveled: 300
Book.pngCombat Only
Book.pngEvade: ¾ seconds
Combo.pngCombo Finisher: Whirl

and also just went ahead and added Revenant Icon Color.png because it was missing. I just wanted to ask you though if you want me to do any more specializations? maybe reaper as its the most popular elite spec? I'm also going to update all the daredevil ones later as I noticed some of the cool-downs and initiative costs on the wiki's are not updated to what I have seen on the forums. --Thief Icon Color.png Revenant Icon Color.png TheShyGuyTheory (talk) 05:57, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Chase already asked the community to help him with all the templates. Just go for it Fredor (talk) 08:00, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
I just didn't know if someone already said they were going to do them... I'll start that soon then. --Thief Icon Color.png Revenant Icon Color.png TheShyGuyTheory (talk) 21:30, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
That is awesome thank you very much! The revenant was a good idea, I forgot to upload that icon thank you. Go ahead and work on anything that's blank (if the page already exists, check it's history, it might be abandoned or someone might be working on it currently, but honestly I think you're the only one working on it right now). « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 15:42, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
Minor Update; I figured out how to do duplicate skills eg
Slice Slice
Chain. Slice your foe.
Damage.pngDamage: 135
Book.pngNumber of Targets: 3
Range.pngRange: 150
Slice Slice
Chain. Slice your foe.
Damage.pngDamage: 195
Range.pngRange: 130
on the new daredevil skill
Uppercut Uppercut
Physical. Deal a heavy blow with your fist, sending enemies flying.
Damage.pngDamage: 598
Launch.pngLaunch: 0
Range.pngRange: 130
but i kinda went off the beaten track, when you first try to make a build and type simply "Slice" it will come up with "Please define type parameter for Skill/Slice. Available types: ranger, thief." and thus confuses people, that is why i went with this approach; "Please define type parameter for Skill/Uppercut. Available types: "Uppercut (warrior skill)", "Uppercut (thief skill)".", is this ok? i feel like it is better as the text only displayed to people who are new and this helpes them more... i didnt want to add this to a new topic too btw, there was no point. --Thief Icon Color.png Revenant Icon Color.png TheShyGuyTheory (talk) 12:15, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
That is fine, we could have also made it so instead fo type we just said "class" and then typed it in, but there are duplicates within the same profession as well (for isntance thief underwater skill). Should be okay though « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 15:51, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
How do i add the specialization image for Daredevil? the one that goes behind the traits. --Thief Icon Color.png Revenant Icon Color.png TheShyGuyTheory (talk) 09:35, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
I'll get it done when the new patch hits :) « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 13:18, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

I've updated DH spec to match what's in-game. It's my first time doing such a thing and I'm not sure if I broke anything so you might want to take a quick look at them. On a somewhat related note, would it be possible to throw categories on the trait pages? That way they wouldn't be so hard to find. Are we going to get miniskill and spec bars in the future, it'd be easier on talk spaces. Zyke (talk) 00:50, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

All specializations are already found on this page. I only see you changed Valor 6. Is there something else I should be looking at as well? ChaseBot (talk) 18:48, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

How can I edit this[edit]

Hey there Dantes created this build for me Necromancer - Full Survivability but i can't edit it, how can i edit it?

Are you able to click on the edit tab near the top right? or try the keys "alt+shift+e". « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 13:07, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
Right now I can only look at source on that page, I can however edit other pages (but not create one) --Blueblob0 (talk) 16:37, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, there may have been a problem with the namespace. Would you please try again? Thank you « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 22:38, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Could you hide the underline?[edit]

When hovering a trait tooltip icon (not the text, when textonly or label is set) for example:
No trait with such title exists.

It looks a bit bad. >.< Valento (talk) 12:39, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

I don't think so. Easiest would be to wrap the icon and the text in different divs « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 12:54, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
Actually, yes. I'm a dumbass. Fixed. Might have broke something else, but we'll deal with it when it comes up. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 13:08, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Elementalist spec tables[edit]

Hey, Chase. So, I changed Common.css to highlight spec names better following how you did for other specs, but it was later reverted. Why so? (I used same color values so they became consistent across all spec tables) Valento (talk) 13:54, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

They were already done. If you think they're not readable enough we can go ahead and change them. However note that each specialization was done with it's "theme" color so you'd have to do each one individually. Consistency in this case is following the color of the background of the individual specialization. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:01, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
We used to have a page where every specialization and it's "variants" note underneath it was displayed. This made it easier to see every spec. Any chance we can use that page somewhere with the new set up? « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:03, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
I get it now. It's just that Water and Arcane are nonexistent (transparent), and thus there is no highlight, but I will pay more attention to that pattern now! If you could change Water and Arcane background colors to match the stablished criterion? (I'm bad at finding those color values).
About your request, we can for sure wrap up those in a page. It can follow the same pattern you chose (I find it simple and nice), which is "Specialization/<profession> specializations". I've done something similar here. The code below produces this:
{{#arraymap:Fire,Air,Earth,Water,Arcane,Tempest|,|@@@|{{Specialization table|@@@}}|<br>}}
The #arraymap function accepts a list, a delimiter, the variable that will hold the value at each iteration, the output (what to do with this value), and the new delimiter. In this case my "array" was each of the elementalist specs, the delimiter was the comma ",", I named the variable "@@@" (this is just following the suggestion from SMW help, but could ne ANYthing such as $var if you feel more comfortable), and I invoked the {{Specialization table}} at each iteration passing the current spec as param1, and used a breakline as delimiter so they were displayed one after another. This can be wrapped in a template if you want, but I find it simpler to just go ahead and write stuff in each of the "Specialization/<profession> specs" pages.
If you want, you can add me in skype (pcf.feat). I work full time, but I'll answer whenever I can. Valento (talk) 16:20, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Mind boggling -- Good work! « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 13:39, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Effects with stacks[edit]

Hi, Chase. So, there will be times where a certain trait has a skill icon attached to it such as

Experimental Turrets
Experimental Turrets.pngExperimental Turrets
Turrets apply boons to allies around them.
Flame Turret.pngMight.png3Might (10s): +90 Power, +90 Condition Damage
Healing Turret.pngVigor.pngVigor (3s): +50% Endurance Regeneration
Net Turret.pngSwiftness.pngSwiftness (10s): 33% Movement Speed
Rifle Turret.pngFury.pngFury (5s): 20% Critical Chance
Rocket Turret.pngRetaliation.pngRetaliation (3s): Reflect incoming damage back to its source.
Thumper Turret.pngProtection.pngProtection (3s): -33% Incoming Damage
Radius.pngInterval: 10 seconds
Radius.pngRadius: 600

. As you can see, the stacks is under the linked icon, not the skill fact icon. Is there a way to always align the icon in relation to the "last" div instead of the first? --Valento (talk) 13:50, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Well, I changed the css to add a bit more spacing to the left, and also the template so it matches the new rule. If you know a more elegant approach, please let me know! Valento (talk) 16:24, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Works for me :) We can always incorporate elegance at a later time (But it already looks fine to me) « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 13:39, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Skill bar template: The beginning[edit]

Hi, Chase! I made some drafts about profession mechanic skill bars here. I want to analyze what elements are needed in order to create the template appropriately, and I'd love if you could get involved. I'm not that good for UI, so I'd need help in this department. We can sort out together what elements are needed, but the actual html element hierarchy is something I'm not very good at. Valento (talk) 12:42, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

Oh wow this is a lot of good work. Sadly, I have to quit my position or at least take a hiatus as there is too much going on in my life right now. Hope you don't burn yourself out on this work and maybe I'll be able to help out later. Thank you so much for everything you've done so far « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 13:39, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
No problem. I will try to do some stuff, and when (if) you have time at some point in the future, it would be very cool if you could review. Hope you're doing fine. ^^ Valento (talk) 13:54, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Request to move a page[edit]

Hey, I was trying to move an article to rename it but it seems I don't have permission to do so. Can only admins move pages? If so, would you mind moving Chronomancer - S/S /F /P /S to Chronomancer - Utility DPS? The article is so broad that such a specific (not to mention cluttered/confusing) name doesn't really make sense. Thanks in advance. :3 -Somohexual (talk) 17:06, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

TOC alignment is off with MBuild[edit]

I don't know why it's not working. I haven't changed any css class but it seems TOC is aligned incorrectly. I know you're very busy right now, but if/when you have time could you please take a look? Thank you. =) --Valento (talk) 13:20, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

From what I can read it will be very easy to change the css when the design update to the site hits. Sit tight and I'll try to have everything done by the weekend :) Ooc what are the benefits of SMW? As in the "whoa"/"cool" things that we can do with it that aren't supported now. I'm still very new to this technology haha « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:54, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
Extremely easy fix. Your toc should come before the rating box, and it's fixed with that simple change. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 15:47, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
But, what do I need to do? It's still wrongly aligned. x.x
SMW (Semantic MediaWiki) is a way to structure data so it can be managed as a database. The predecessor of SMW is the DPL, but SMW is way more powerful and can make intelligent queries. One big advantage is how you can loop through query results and dispatch the output elements to a formatting template, so each result (i.e. "record") can be stylized differently. For instance, the format parameter from the #ask function accepts a template. If format = template, you can specify which template to send the results to with the template parameter. This template must be ready to receive the result values and use them accordingly. For example, say I have a query that looks for all recipes, and each recipe uses 4 ingredients. Each ingredient is supposed to be displayed in a certain style so I create an hypothetic "Ingredient result template", so I query for a certain food's recipe and it returns 4 records (4 ingredients). In this same query I specify the format = template, and template = Ingredient result template. This means I'll send each query result (i.e. each ingredient) to this template. In the template I receive the values for each ingredient. An ingredient will have an image, a name, and a color. This means each of the 4 ingredients will have 3 parameters, when I send each result to the formatting template it will receive each of the 3 parameters as unnamed parameters (i.e. {{{1}}}, {{{2}}}, {{{3}}}). Param 1 is the ingredient itself, 2 onwards are its parameters. So I'll know that 2 equals the ingredient's image, 3 name, and 4 color. I arrange them and display them. Then the query send another ingredient, and another, and so on. It's just like an SQL query but more semantic. The query itself is already a huge advantage over DPL, the other functions are a neat complement to the already powerful extension. Sorry for the wall of text, I have a hard time explaining myself. We can talk in Skype if you wish so I can give you faster response. --Valento (talk) 16:18, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
I understand, that is good to know (I will re-adjust my logic). Please add me on skype, we should work to get the new front page up and running :) I'm not sure what the problem is with setting up the template, if you see the old template you just notice the way the toc is added before the rating box and that's what fixes the alignment issues « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 23:05, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
I know that TOC must come before, but I don't know why it's coming after. :( Valento (talk) 03:31, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
I think in the code it is not coming first. When it is put into the code first, it floats automatically to the right. If it is placed after the rating box, then it won't work. Please link me to the template and I'll check for myself :) I'm pretty sure our old rating/build template explicitly places the TOC before the actual template code itself so it can align correctly. This is the nature of "floats" in HTML/CSS ChaseBot (talk) 00:52, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
Duh, I deserve a slap on the face. >.< --Valento (talk) 10:48, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
