Performance Issues with the Snowflakes[edit]

A couple of my guildmates have say they are having performance issues with the new snowflake animation. And looking at my resource monitor with Metabattle on Chrome the cpu is working much harder than it should be. It's hovering around 50% which is a quite a bit for just a webpage.

other user with a similar issue --Human icon.png Dantes (talk) 21:11, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

I tested it on a 5 year old laptop, figured that'd be good enough xP I can't troubleshoot it now, so I just turned it off completely. This should alleviate the problem, but if not maybe it's something else, so let me know « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 08:18, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Another thing, if you click an image in a gallery, the page will freeze and the image won't open. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 13:08, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Whaaaaat.....? Dang! Had to be when I'm gone. I'll try to check it out. Or at least disable it maybe. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 17:36, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Fixed, hanz -- It was actually working behind the main content page, and you could see the left nav bar went dark. the page wouldn't scroll because it thought it was open on the very front (hence seeming to freeze). I moved it up ahead now it shows in front of the content properly -- let me know if it's still a problem :) « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 17:53, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

New user message[edit]

It has your signature, I don't think that's intentional :P Good idea btw. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 16:31, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

yarp! thinking about including a list of all admins there or something, whatever kind of quick tutorials we may want to put there or something idk. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 17:05, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Meta + Good[edit]

I don't think it's possible atm. Ideally in the template we should be able to set "Meta-build" and "rating=Good" to do this, but the "rating=" part does nothing atm :P --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 18:24, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Fixed the template. This hsould now work on any build. I really don't think we're using that template right anyways, something is interesting... « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 18:29, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Got an idea! While it's currently uncommon for Good builds to get into meta, we should add some visual indication that signifies this. GWPvX had capes to do this - short recap: monthly GvG cups awarded special guild capes, 1st place = permanent gold cape, 2-16 = 1 month of silver, 17-32 = 1 month of copper cape. PvX used the images in the following way: Meta (with great rating = Gold cape), Meta (with Good rating = silver cape). I've been thinking about what kind of images could we use for GW2 but the solution was rather obvious: event completion ones. Meta + Great = golden dragon, Meta + Good = silver owl. Thoughts? --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 19:52, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Pure genius. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 21:18, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
lol, ty ^^ --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 21:33, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Rank 80 is a Dragon and Rank 70 is a Phoenix so that can work --Human icon.png Dantes (talk) 21:59, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Problem is you either have to screenshot it (not so professional) or use the finisher tab icon (which is meh). First I wanted to use the Tournament 1st and 2nd place trophy finishers, but same problem as with Phoenix or Dragon. Besides, for me Phoenix > Dragon. :P Dragon looks like a random unfinished trash mob from an upcoming dungeon, but that's just an opinion. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 09:11, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Images for templates[edit]

I couldn't find the event completion ones on the wiki (at least not without a background). What do you think is the easiest way to get those? --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 13:51, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Let me check the ...... dreaded .dat file......... I blame you for this, Hanz. I blame you! « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:07, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Do task for motherland. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 14:25, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Job's done. I'll work on the new template. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:30, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Gj ^^ --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 14:37, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
The new one looks amazing, but 2 questions: 1) is it still possible to tag 2 build for 2 categories? Like Conquest / Stronghold. We might need that later. 2) could you align to the template to middle? On slightly wider-than-average screens there is a huge blank space between the category box and the table of contents but this is just a minor issue, probably bottom of the priority list. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 18:13, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Because of how the ToC works we cannot middle align without there being a weird gap vertically. I will work on it. There is no way to tag a build for two categories. Perhaps with the introduction of Stronghold we can re-visit that concept -- Shouldn't be hard to implement :) Almost done testing it, then we can move them all over to the new version « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 18:22, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
kk ^^ --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 18:24, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
All done. Transitioning can begin. I'll work on fixing the box under "Designed for" and the center alignment. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 18:25, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Regarding dungeons: should we go back to having 1 build of each profession under meta? Reddit defeinitely wants us to. But ofc we'd tag nec, engi and ranger as Good + Meta. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 19:27, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
No. Necro cannot be in the meta. I'm sorry but it's not meta for Dungeons, it's meta for Necros in dungeons. That's a huge difference they're failing to understand. Mesmer can fit the meta because it's not a great build outside the meta, but inside the meta it has a specific role and should be used. As we decide in next week's discussion for category vs new-approach we'll come to a better consensus. For now let's leave necro, ranger, and engi in good. There are no records broken with their classes. Mesmer is good+meta and looks quite well with the silver medal. This was a great idea, Hanz -- I really dig the new look so far. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 19:30, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Okay :P I see you acquired some extra images too like the one for Trial. 1 last thing: could you add some border to the new templates? --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 19:37, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
I don't think the borders looked that good, but I'll try again. The main page is border-less so I tried keeping it in line with that. Will test and report back after I fix the images. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 19:43, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Get more niche videos added[edit]

Yeah, it might be a good idea to add some tips n tricks videos to the pages, but I think we should post them in a subcategory of the video section like "tips, tricks and funstuff". I say this with reference to the 24 might video you just added. They did a great job there, but I just do not see it applicable in a dungeon environment, since a 20s long out-of-fight pre-mightstacking rotation with multiple weapon and skill swaps is just over the top. The bosses are mostly dead in the same time you need for this, especially if you add at least another 10s of swapping back to useful skills. Fredor (talk) 14:28, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

There are only two videos linked currently. I don't think another header is required in the table of contents for it just yet. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 21:07, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
yeah it's not about yet but the future Fredor (talk) 21:21, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

AC build[edit]

Was moved, missing from front page. Blackie (talk) 21:01, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

We are aware and trying to fix the problem. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 21:02, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
Should all be working fine now thanks to Muki « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 21:09, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Ads on the top of the main page[edit]

So ads started popping up after you changed something somewhere. I'm the king of describing issues btw. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 20:56, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

Hmmm.... that is odd.... I will look into the jquery. Thank you for pointing that out to me « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 21:21, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
Fixed, Chase accidentally removed a small part of code :D-- Galaxian (talk) 21:25, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
