Stormbreaker Spear & Inkwell Fan PvE Build
- Fun to Play
- Good Mobility
- Tanky
- Low-ish Damage
Overview
The
Stormbreaker Spear is the perfect weapon for those looking to play a tanky build in PVE, acting as the main tank of a group whenever you are doing sword trials or similar PVE group content. Pairing this with the
Inkwell Fan also brings extra damage and combo potential as it gives you the potential to airjuggle enemies whenever in the open world or you are fighting against monsters that can be CC'd. While this build doesn't have much damage potential and its considered an off-meta build, it can still do well for those looking to play this type of build.
Martial Arts
Gear
Stats Priority
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Rainwhisper + Formbend set combo. You can use Moonflare for armor until Formbend becomes available. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
With the build lacking damage, the Mystic Skills have to make up for the lost damage, which is why
Fury Harvest acts as a good way of getting some extra vitality, making it easier to stack it up and combo Mystic Skills more often. Another decent option is the
Fivefold Bleed for extra bleeds if you want to try it out as well.
Rock Solid is another very important Inner Way as it adds extra damage reduction, making it easier to tank bosses.
Trapped Beast provides an extra shield that activates when your HP drops low, helping prevent you from going down. As with many builds,
Morale Chant remains one of the best Inner Ways, since hitting enemies increases your damage and lets you build consistent DPS throughout a fight.
Mystic Skills
For combo damage,
Dragon's Breath is very strong thanks to its burn effect. When you use it before
Drunken Poet, every hit causes extra burn explosions while also letting you recover stamina, so you keep dealing damage without slowing down.
When needing AOE damage
Leaping Toad is a pretty good pick too as it also knocks enemies away. Its poison damage staggers enemies and also spreads to nearby enemies for extra damage. For groups of enemies,
Ghost Bind CC's groups easily and can be used before a follow-up
Dragon's Breath or any other AOE skills/combos.
Against single targets,
Talon Strike works well. It knocks enemies down, helps break their Qi bar, and sets up easy follow-ups like
Soaring Spin so you can finish them quickly whenever you aren't using
Soaring Spin as a filler damage skill.
Rotations
- Close the distance to the boss with
Peak's Springless Silence before using
Dragon's Breath to apply a burning dot effect that will tick down boss HP over time.
- Use
Storm Roar to taunt the boss and reduce incoming damage, continue with
Thunder Shock to add vulnerability before using
Fury Spear to deal good damage easily, make sure that you also fully charge this.
- Finish up the rotation by refreshing
Dragon's Breath before using
Drunken Poet to explode the debuff and deal very high damage for low vitality cost but without using any Endurance.
