Overview

The Gun Flame Backline is designed to deal insane amounts of unblockable AoE and piercing damage from range.

Unfortunately massively weakened by the change that removed the Piercing from Gunflame. Has a very hard time hitting ideal targets and focusing damage. Also requires excellent positioning due to a lack of defensive tools. Compared to Wells Necro/Reaper or Staff Elementalist the issues in focusing its damage where needed outweigh the exceptional burst. Could potentially function in a pick role, but given the state of the current meta and the power of Scrappers in shutting down aggressive pick builds Gunflame is nonviable against organized groups.

How viable is this build in a meta that strongly emphasizes going all out with the melee train? If you get caught out of position, you're not "fairly vulnerable". You'll get melted in seconds regardless of Warrior's innate tankiness, whether through physical burst or condi burst, following a stun or immob. Plenty of groups run ganking thieves or scrappers just to take out glassy backliners like you.

With the lack of a real backline support standing by(other than your occasional Longbow Druid sitting and taking potshots), you lack any form of stability or condi cleanse or protection. Even the most recent backline Ele builds run Marauder instead of Zerker and have multiple long-range escapes, stability and heals+protection for themselves.

The damage output is really good and consistent, but I'd worry about being able to live long enough to put that out.
