Concise

  • Use Bandit's Defense before or immediately after an incoming stun. You can often predict an enemy thief's steal and activate just prior to knock them down instead. Even if you miss and activate afterwards it's a quick stun break.
  • Remember to stun/interrupt as it applies pulmonary damage.
  • Dodging gives you a free "crit", use it wisely on your bigger hitting skills.

I played a game of this and my main fear when initially going over this build was immediately realized. It's tanky as hell, sure, and then it can stealth and escape when things go south, so it's incredibly annoying to fight. The problem is the lack of pressure it puts out and just being outclassed for this "bruiser" roll by other classes.

Pros - Pulmonary impact and Bound's damage modifier makes up for a little bit of the damage. Rune of the Daredevil is a clever integration into this build, whose main damage sources are single-hits in Heartseeker and Backstab. Stealth is easy with Black Powder and Bound.

Cons - Without ferocity though, the impact of these blows is much less threatening on anything that isn't a pure glass build. And to make matters worse, the hard hitting skill backstab requires stealth, so you will slowly watch your point decap over the course of fighting. The sigil choices aren't optimal, relying on a 4% crit rate most of the time for 50% activation on-crit sigils with low cooldowns.

In summary, this build loses a lot of the key strengths of D/P thieves without gaining too much in advantage, in large part because of the Soldier's amulet and low overall crit chance. The impact of +1 with this build is much less. I'd likely recommend this to a new D/P player as it still retains some of the D/P flavor (learning to hit Heartseeker/Backstab and use Black Powder).
