Overview

A basic Greatsword + Mace/Torch(Focus) build for any PvE Dungeon/Fractal. This build is still viable for higher Fractals but you might want to check out [[Build:Dragonhunter_-_DPS/Support|this Build}] as well. On a side note: starting with Fractal level 80 foes will steal boons so you might want to pay attention as you apply Retaliation Retaliation(GS) and Protection Protection(Hammer) to your teammates.

Other tips

  • Try not to interrupt the auto attack chain of both weapons unless necessary. Interrupting the auto attack chain will result in a dps loss.
  • can do more damage than stated in the tooltip. Click on the skill link for details.
  • When pulling a mob/group of mobs as a guardian, use
    . If you feel what you are pulling may hit you with crowd control conditions or a hard hitting skill, apply
    as you pull.
  • is a blast finisher, and can be used to blast combo fields, but it might unveil you if it is used to stack stealth.
  • is a blast finisher that should be taken advantage of when blasting fields as you can swap it in and out when out of combat.

Thanks to Anet for balancing across all game modes instead of having different skillpools, we are back to the roots just with the difference, that we run DH now.

20% dmg nerf to True Shot can't be compensated by the small buffs to Deflecting Shot and Symbol of Energy. And for the fact, that Mace+Focus/Torch only was slightly less dps than Longbow, tables have turned and now Mace is ahead.

And yeah, as usual. Guardian burst is really good. Have fun testing it out in the new testing area.
