Overview

This build is an excellent starting spot for anyone who wants to play a Staff Elementalist in open world. Even without access to the expansions, this build holds its own in a zerg.

Playstyle

This bulid revolves around using your many area of effects, such as to deal large splash damage to groups of mobs very quickly. This build offers a relatively relaxed playstyle, even in fast-paced groups, though in very fast zergs such as the Mad King's Labyrinth it can fall behind other builds. In cases where your tagging speed matters more than your raw DPS, the scepter tagging tempest build is recommended.

Usage

Damage

Abuse your skills. Your goal is to tag large groups of mobs quickly. , , and are your bread and butter.

    • Against static groups, is an incredible damage tool. It also works very well against bosses, especially those with a large hit box.
      • You can use during your channel to prevent being interrupted. You can also abuse before you cast to blind groups of mobs.
  • and allow you to trap enemies for your AOEs.

Defense & Support

  • provides significant condition removal to both yourself and allies.

This build is surprisingly strong for a basic build. It stands up to its Tempest and Weaver variants easily and is very easy to play.
