Overview

Variant of Weaver - Power DPS (Fractal). This build doesn't use any expansions and is available with the free version of the game. However it is strictly inferior to Weaver - Power DPS (Fractal) and should only be used by players who don't own Path of Fire.
To achieve max DPS with a core Elementalist you need to do a complicated triple-conjured-weapon rotation while swapping between attunements. This is covered under "Full DPS Rotation" below.
For players who are still learning Elementalist, just want to casually do dungeons and fractals without worrying about hard DPS rotations, or don't want to practice rotations on Weaver's strictly inferior cousin, a "Simplified DPS Priority" is also provided which does ~90% of the full rotation's DPS.

Simplified Rotation Variants

You use different traits if you're using the Simplified Rotation. This is because you are camping in
and don't get value out of
, so Air is prioritized over Water.
  • If you have a Chronomancer - Utility Boon Support to provide you with boons for
, take Fire, Air, and Arcane with the traits listed above.
  • If you don't have a Chrono take Fire, Air, and Water.

Usage

Full DPS Rotation

The logic behind this rotation is to use your hardest hitting skills --
,

to benefit from
during the pulsing damage. Other high damage skills such as

Simplified DPS Priority

For an easier starting point to learn Elementalist, or if you don't care about reaching max DPS, you can use a simple DPS priority. This will provide around 90% of the damage of the above rotation while staying completely in
.
If you do this you should use different trait lines from the main build as you won't be making use of
in the Water trait line. See the "Simplified Rotation Variant" traits above.

DPS Priority

Use these skills off cooldown with the following priority, from highest to lowest:
  1. , or pick one up, and do the following:
    1. Drop conjure

Written Simplified Rotation

Following the DPS priority will provide the following rotation. This is essentially the rotation above minus the attunement swapping.
  1. , or pick one up, and use the following rotation:

DPS Tips

  • Keep track of where you placed your conjures. After
    ,
    , and
come off cooldown, you can pick up your conjured weapons and use those skills again.
    • Instead of using
      in
      you can also
into a wall for slightly higher DPS.
  • deals higher damage than
in short fights that will be over before
comes off cooldown. In these situations you should open with
    in
and then swap to Fire for the rest of your rotation. You can also swap to
in between attunement swaps to use
    as a finisher.
  • In very short fights you won't be able to pick up your conjured weapons a second time. In these cases, you can tell your teammates to pick them up and use
    or
    - these skills deal insane burst damage and are often DPS increases over your teammates' normal skills.
  • If possible precast
before starting the fight, this will give you a minor DPS increase as the fight begins.

General Tips

  • Most of the time, you can't follow the full rotation in fractals due to boss mechanics. Instead, focus on timing
    ,
, and your conjured weapons to coincide with your group breaking the boss's defiance bar. This also prevents the boss from moving out of your attacks.
  • mitigates almost all damage from trash mobs.
  • If you have trouble surviving high-pressure fights like Mai Trin or Artsariiv, you can slot
for more personal defense. This is a DPS loss but it's better than dying.

CC

Staff Elementalist has very little prompt access to reliable hard-hitting CC skills for breakbars - many of its CC skills are gated behind double-attuning or will be unavailable due to the DPS rotation.
  • in
    .
  • in
, only stuns if you are able to land the edge of it on the boss.
  • if you are in
    while the breakbar is up.
  • if you are in Can't find such skill "Conjure Ice Bow"! Please refer to our skill index..

Blasting Out of Combat

Elementalist has a lot of combo fields and finishers you make use of to assist your party out of combat.

  • Use
    switch to
    and use
    over the
    then
    and
to give Swiftness Swiftness to your party.
  • If your party is using blast finishers in a smoke field to stealth, switch between your attunements and weapons and use skills that are blast finishers.
    • for example switch to mainhand scepter in
      and use
    • switch to offhand dagger in
      and use
    • switch to mainhand dagger in
      and use

Stacking Might

  • Start in
    with Scepter/Focus
  • Use
    and aim
    bellow it
  • Place your character on top of the fire field and use
    in it
  • Swap to
    while using
  • Aim your camera above your character and cast
  • Switch to dagger mainhand and use
  • Swap to
    and use
  • Switch to offhand dagger and use
    and
  • This is going to give your party 24 stacks of might, to get 25 stacks you can use
    while
    is channeling.

Running

  • Use
    for swiftness.
  • Switch to offhand dagger in
    and use
    without a target.
  • While in
    use
    backwards.
  • Use
  • In long runs cast
    and use
    and

This build deals surprisingly high damage for a core build and is a very solid contender in dungeons and fractals, where its burst and cleave damage shine. A good option for F2P players.
