Utility
- Shout. Draw conditions from nearby allies to yourself. Gain multiple boons for a shot duration.
Weapons
- Focus over Shield with for more self sustain.
- Some Guardians prefer using Sword instead of Mace especially on the Battle of Kyhlo in case they get knocked off the capture point at the Clocktower as this way they won't have to walk around and can potentially prevent a decap.

Usage
General Keep in mind that your role as a bunker isn't just to keep yourself alive - in fact you should keep most of your supportive skills for your allies in case they need to be healed, cleansed of conditions or protected by boons. You should be the first in line to res them as well.
- Your primary job is Team Support and thus you should focus on being in the center of team fights. Rotate to where the fight is.
Shouts
- All of your shouts remove two conditions with the combination of and , use them to remove both Power and Condition based pressure from your allies.
Aegis it can be used to disrupt enemy burst and many of your traits synergize well with Aegis.
- with the short CD and the boons it applies is your one of your best tools against both Power and Condition based pressure.
Stability is the most important of the utility slot shouts. Primarily use it to secure stomp/res attempts, but it's also a great tool against mass CC such as
Well. Create a powerful well that warps space in an area, knocking down, floating, and pulling foes caught in its event horizon. When it expires, foes still inside the well take heavy damage.- can be used both offensive and defensive reasons.
Virtues
- should be kept for the passive as long as possible, but the active AoE healing and condi cleansing is definitely worth utilizing.
Stability,
Aegis and Protection.
Self sustain
- Hold on to as long as you can, the block it provides (if used at the right time) can negate the burst of an entire team.
- can create some breathing room / force enemy CDs.
- As you should try to keep most of your shouts for allies, if you need to cleanse conditions from yourself try to use in melee range of an enemy first. The bouncing attacks should cleanse a couple of conditons.
- Focus only: can be used while CC'd to prevent burst.
Pre-game buffing
- Give Swiftness to your team before the match starts! Use
Swiftness.

Counters
- Team comps that rely heavily on rotations counters this build; the Bunker guard is great for teamfights but has slow movement and is not that effective in 1v1 or 2v2 situation, it really starts to shine at 3v3 and above.

This still has its moments post-HoT (AoE quickness, cleansing, blocks, and most importantly Stability), but it just not in the same tier as chrono/tempest/druid bunker specs.
