Meditation Guard is a true double-edged sword, a prime example of risk/reward gameplay because most of your (otherwise defensive) abilities can be powerful additions to your burst damage - thus leaving you significantly vulnerable later.

Setting up your burst/devastating opening attack:

  • Before switching to Hammer you can use

    , if the blocks don't expire before its duration runs out, it will explode in an AoE that can deal ~5k dmg - but this means you gave up a skill on a 45 sec cd that can be used to block while you are stunned.

  • Hammer provides really good CC options: you have access to immobilize, launch and a ward, making it possible to decap a point.

    is one of the best skills to prevent a downed enemy from rallying - even if someone is ressing him while having Stability, you can go around it by Banishing the downed instead. Note that any fall damage will kill the downed. It can also be used to allow your enemy for a safe stomp. Use it one second before your enemy finishes stomping (or before if you're launching your enemy on a range close enough for the stomp), preventing your enemy from using any downed skill.

Although this build has extra support over the Greatsword version, the loss of DPS isn't really worth it; losing Glacial Heart for burst isn't really helping either.

This build is confusing. It wants to be a DPS build, but it does very low DPS. Medi Hammer is just gone. Although I really want a Guard hammer build, it isn't good enough for my low standards.

Even though it has disappeared from pvp (mostly because of how good bunker guardian is), I find this build still good. Not much changed from the old version, great damage, great CC and great survivability. Lacks a bit of mobility. New Shield of Absorption on ress and Smite Condition on heal are excellent. The main loss is Glacial Heart.

great burst, overall good dmg + good support but in this tanky meta +stealth meta +with vamp runes it seems like only dps classes with stealth and/or vamp rune can really work. Dps guard burst is more obvious than mes +thief (stealth burst). and the dmg is not enough to kill bunkers quick. they will most likely outsustain you or/and be saved by vamp runes incase you get the burst set up.

labeld good because it works and has advantages over GS dps variant when it comes to support ( rezz utility with kb bubble + good cc + heal for allies with pure of heart & heal on dodge) but does a bit less dmg because of missing shatterd aegis.
