Don't forget to equip your Aquabreather with a Rune of the Centaur if you plan on getting good speed underwater as well. Again the trinkets are for convenience and are not actually required (The build naturally has plenty of boon duration increase).

Food and Consumables

Chocolate Raspberry Creams will provide 32% magic find while under a boon and an additional 14% boon duration. Considering that you'll almost always be under the effects of a boon (swiftness), this is a pretty great food. This build is based around this food, instead of the much more expensive Chocolate Omnomberry Cream.

Experimental Rifles and Experimental Teleportation Guns can help you get to places that are otherwise difficult to achieve with normal running and jumping.

Usage

Perma Swiftness

Centaur Runes + Mantra of Recovery = Perma Swiftness. The very minimum required for this to work is either 2 points in Dueling for

or 30% boon duration from putting 6 points in Chaos. This build happens to do both, making perma-swiftness a very easy thing to achieve. Aside from that all gear is absolutely unnecessary and is just for ease of use. Receiving 20 seconds of swiftness on a 10 second cooldown is mind-numbingly easy. Getting double the swiftness duration is also quite easy on this build. Again, it's purely for convenience. The build works perfectly fine without any special gear aside from the necessary Centaur Runes.

Boon Duration

  • The runes will give you +30% swiftness.
  • The traits provide +20-30% boon duration.
  • The extremely cheap food combined with our staff will get at least another +20% boon duration.
  • There is a utility, Signet of Midnight, which can provide +10% boon duration.
  • Each ring and accessory provides +5% boon duration each.
  • That is a total of 70-80% Boon Duration or 110% swiftness duration

Boon Duration is capped at 100%, so anything over that is unhelpful. Think through what you actually want. A build with only the traits and Centaur runes automatically boasts a powerful 50-60% boon duration increase, which is more than enough.

Tagging

Mantra of pain is the most efficient tagging method. It has very good range at 1200 units and can still output as much damage as Blurred Frenzy (Sword 2) in about as much time. It's activation is instantaneous as long as it's been charged and off cooldown. It can be used 3 times in a row between recharges and only has a one second cooldown.

For champion farming you can ctrl+right click mantra of pain to set it to auto attack. Then tagging a champion is as easy as right clicking it once and waiting to get in range. Note! Though the skill has no projectile it still requires line of sight to work properly.

Running

Thought we have perma swiftness from our Centaur Runes and healing mantra, there are still a few tricks that we can use both to speed up the player as well as for convenience.

Before applying your first swiftness with Mantra of Recovery, use Temporal Curtain on Focus for a 20 second buffer. Activating the heal right after this can get you up to 40 seconds of swiftness right off the bat.

Use Blink often. It has been traited for distance and reduced recharge. You can often climb cliffs faster with this skill than any profession can physically run.

Use Phase Retreat in forward motion. Two things are required for this to work at all.

  1. Check "Use Free Camera" in Options > General Options > Camera
  2. Bind a key to About Face in Options > Control Options > Movement (We'll use the left "Shift" key in our example)

While running forward, simply hit Shift, 2, Shift. The timing is a bit peculiar, but you'll want to hit 2 right after your character turns the screen around, and then wait for the animation to complete before hitting shift again.

Note: This trick doesn't work while holding the right mouse button down and is awkward to use if you just let go of the left mouse button. Use it without the mouse for best effect.

Skill Point Challenges

It's very easy to commune with a skill point on Mesmer. If there are any foes around you can set Focus 4 in a place that will pull them away from you, use any of the many stealth options, start communing with the skill point, and use focus 4 again to pull any creatures away when you are revealed while communing.

Be sure to use a Portal Entre before a difficult jump. In case you miss, you can create the portal exeunt (as long as you're alive!), to get right back where you fell from. The trait variation only increases the time the portal exeunt is available by 2 seconds. However, this is sometimes enough of an increase to immediately try the jump again one more time, allowing you to take the same portal you activated the last time you fell if you fail twice in a row.

Condi Cleanse

In areas where you get immobilized, chilled, or crippled often, it can be beneficial to switch to Inspiration IV, Mender's Purity. This trait will cure two conditions from your player every time a heal skill is used. If needed, one could also slot Mantra of Resolve which does the same thing. If using this many mantras, look at Dueling VI as well.

Counters

Champions: You're not very well equipped to actually fight things on this build.

Gravity: Though you have 50% reduced fall damage, gravity can still get the best of you on jumping puzzles.
