While you lack the instant burst of a shatter mesmer, a properly played lockdown mesmer can output just as much damage.It is important to keep in mind that Chaotic Interruption mesmer make more use of their phantasms (iWarden loves a stationary target) than shatter Mesmer, and learning how to shatter clones BEFORE summoning phantasms is important to maintaining damage.

    - pulls up to five targets to it's center when the secondary ability is used. It is one of the most creative single abilities in the game, offering a LIGHT combo field (almost exclusive to Guardians), AoE Cripple/ Swiftness, AoE Interrupt/CC. The skill is forgiving, yet rewards creative and tactical play and there are many different strategies in using it, including to play mindgames with the enemy. Dropping a curtain on the field essentially forces enemies to waste dodges, and the longer it lingers the more uncertain many opponents become. It’s usually better to wait about 4 seconds after casting before activating the pull so both yourself and your team can reap the benefits and enemies are debilitated by cripple and reflects, or using the curtain pull to combo into iWarden.

  • Phantasms are not affected by Might Might that is applied to them. They are, however, affected by might which is applied to the caster, meaning that as long as the mesmer has might, his phantasms will hit harder as well.
