Usage

Elite specialization basics

  • Dodge rolling is replaced by Mirage Cloak, which is more or less the same thing but allows you to cast skills and grants access to ambush attacks for the duration: 24px Mirage Thrust for Sword and 24px Imaginary Axes for Axe. Ambush skills replace the autoattack of the weapons for 1.5 seconds.

General

  • Make sure that you're below 50% endurance when using False Oasis.png False Oasis, as

refills half your endurance bar after healing.
  • The build doesn't have any mass cleanses, but has several tools that remove one condition at a time (sometimes more if we count Fear and Taunt), these are: Jaunt.png Jaunt, The Prestige.png The Prestige, and the aforementioned Elusive Mind powered dodge.
  • Use 24px Mirage Thrust for mobility while traveling between capture points.
    • For the sake of efficiency, wait for the Superspeed Superspeed from the dodge to almost completely run out before using the leap.
  • Signet of Midnight.png Signet of Midnight is seldom used offensively. Instead, hold onto it as long as possible for the passive bonus, or use it defensively if absolutely necessary.

goes off before the actual strike, so with a little luck it's possible to use a CC (like 24px Mirage Thrust) on a target while this sigil is active, rip the Stability Stability, and land the CC - all in one hit. This sigil is best used for removing either Stability Stability or Resistance Resistance.
  • Using a deception skill (like your heal or elite) spawns a clone if you already have at least one other active clone.
  • Interrupting an enemy or using any Shatter skills in melee range inflicts Blind Blindness, and Blinding a foe causes Confusion Confusion through Ineptitude.png Ineptitude.
  • Portal Entre.png Portal Entre is the strongest mobility skill in the game. Its range is big enough to reach between capture points on most maps, and can be used by allies too. How you use it depends entirely on your creativity! A few starting points:
    • Drop a portal on a capture point you've just won and move on. Come back with Portal Exeunt.png Portal Exeunt if you need to defend it. Alternatively, drop a portal if you're losing the fight and move on. Now your enemy is forced to either afk on the point or hand you a free decap as you can just come back after they left.
    • If your team is losing a fight, cut your losses by making your team escape through an already deployed portal, potentially steamrolling another capture point by outnumbering your enemy there.
    • Use the portal on the brink of death, Blurred Frenzy.png Blurred Frenzy while waiting for it to open, and go through to safety.
    • Open your portal, start finishing off the target immediately, take the portal, then take the portal again near the end of the animation. Gfycat:

Since the nerfs it's not the worst thing ever, just not cheese anymore, which is healthy for the game.

Still has good damage and mobility.

This build has a completely broken level of damage compared to other specs running right now. FB bunker can counter it but still easy to burst kill. Lol this is a thing /gg.

Incredible condi burst, incinerates most enemies in a matter of seconds. It might not be the best idea, but I'm using the axe for both main hand slots and use blink instead of portal entre, for mobility. It's perfect as long as you don't run into very tough-to-beat classes like guardians or druid-rangers and it's very good for point capturing imo.

I still prefer staff because it makes condi mirage more versatile and durable, but this version has its moments too. The burst can be really good.

Excellent mobility and duel potential. The build has less teamfight potential than the staff build. It also can have trouble versus ranged builds especially while Axe is equipped. Lacks Phase Retreat when in a pinch, and not as much condition cover as carrion ineptitude.

However, the evade uptime on this build is superior to the condi counterpart, which lets you dip in 1v2's and, by chance, even win it. If you play smart you can pretty much never die.

I was playing something similar and now I'm trying this build. The issue I'm having (both with this and my build as well) is the insane lack of mobility that this has compared to when using Sword MH and a blink (and eventually staff).

It's got insane damage and good escapes, but it sucks when you need to move from one point to another to 1up a teammate, which is why I'm still on the edge to consider this worth of a 100% grade.

So I've been testing this build a couple more times using sword MH with pistol. It doesn't do much in terms of conditions compared to scepter, but it really helps with mobility and the occasional snare you may want to throw on a running enemy. Also sword 2 helps a lil bit in survivability and deals a nice amount of damage.

Besides that, the damage this is dealing is insane, especially cause it's AoE.

Weaknesses: condition damage (as you have barely any condi clear), unexpected burst.

I'd second the suggestion to pair sword with torch as you need mobility, and another interrup is always good. I played a very similar build prior to the confusion nerf. To my surprise, even after the nerf, the build is very capable. With all the evades + stuns, and condi I'm able to do 300 - 400k damage per match.
