Pvp Ranger build focus on bunkering side nodes. Usable for ftp players

Weapon Variants

Sword/Warhorn

Sword/warhorn can replace either weapon. Adds mobility and sustain.

Slot Changes

Utility For the healing slot:

  • - bursty heal that shares boons between the ranger and their pet. Note: Can be used to increase uptime of stability and/or resistance etc.

For the utility slot:

  • - adds passive healing and also functions as a stun break with very high condition clear.
  • - if you want a panic button that helps you live through any amount of direct damage.

For the elite slot:

  • - more selfish option. Can immobilize opponents for potentially long periods of time, which can be useful in landing burst or rarely to keep an opponent in place while you decap a node.

Pet options:

If you do not own any of the expansions take the following pets (these pets are also viable if you do own them):

  • Juvenile Raven Juvenile Raven bird with high consistent damage and blind
  • Juvenile Owl Juvenile Owl as a second bird. Has consistent damage and chill
  • Juvenile Tiger Juvenile Tiger burst pet. Has a high damage low cd burst skill that also provides fury uptime.

Runes

  • - source of resistance to condtions.
  • - significant protection duration boost. Note: Protection scales with healing via Rugged Growth, especially good with Mender's Amulet
  • - good stats overall and gives some health.
  • - gives another health boost, but with significant healing stats and a large regeneration buff.
  • - Less resistance overall than Revenant Rune, but has lowered condition duration passively and toughness major stat

Sigils

  • - can be taken on either weapon set. Gives endurance on weaponswap
  • - can be taken on either weapon set. Consider taking when you have Sigil of Energy on both sets.

Updated. Still imo the best ranger build by far. Has alot of build variety and many will find more success by picking a build that is good against w.e 1v1 match ups they will have in the match. The nature magic version is a really pleasant side node build and with marksmenship it can still 1v1 very well and do enough dps to go into fights down someone quickly before leaving. Great at winning 1v1s against most things in the game, sword warhorn version added due to increase amount of side noders with area and projectile denial- like scrapper or maybe renegade mostly. That version with menders has great sustain and can survive plus 1s very well with all the extra mobility and very ez stealth access with smoke field. The axe GS version is still amazing against everything else and can still do well at times against things like scrapper.

I'd say this is a good build, especially for players just starting out, but I think the Power Survival variant is a better build at the moment.

In reply to Ze Arios, this build can carry, but I think if you really want to do just that, a more dps heavy / roamer oriented build is better for that purpose. Especially if you can still hit 6.5k Furious Pounces 7k Rapid Fires.

So it does work as a bunker and slow duelist, but I'd say that's not the optimal role for ranger atm.

This ranger build have the most carry potential for solo q at the current time, sic'em soulbeast and power survival are more reliant on the rest of the team where this you can easily go far and force 2 rotations cause if you are good with it you can win most of your 1v1 so they will need to 2v1 you which will create more space for your team.
