Rotation
The goal of the CondiReaper is to maintain as much uptime on your Damage Over Time (DoT) effects as possible. Your main damage comes from Chilling, long-term Bleeding, and Poison.
Start the fight with your Greatsword equipped:
- Before you're within melee range
⇒Weapon Swap

Understanding the CondiReaper
Why choose Condition Damage?
Condition builds offer a nice breath of fresh air from the Berserker-dominated meta of GW2 (Pre-HoT). Playing a Condition build requires a good understand of your spells and the remaining duration of your DoTs (Damage Over Time effects), and being able to recalculate your rotation on the fly to keep as close to an 100% uptime them as possible. Remember: Every second that one of your DoTs (Burning, Poison, Chilled, Torment, Bleeding) aren't Ticking (doing damage per second) represents a large loss in DPS (Damage Per Second). Condition Damage builds are great if you're looking for a (fairly) complex DPS rotation with a high skill cap.
Why do we choose Viper's?
Viper's provides, without a doubt, the most DPS for a Reaper condition build. The Power is excellent since it's a linear increase in damage, especially in Reaper Shroud. The Condition Damage is a no brainer. Precision, thanks to

, boosts our Condition Damage even higher while also benefiting us greatly in Reaper Shroud (in tandem with Power). Finally, Expertise increases Condition Duration, making it the most lucrative stat. Viper are the best stats currently obtainable on a full DPS CondiReaper. A more defensive option would be taking some Trailblazer's pieces, retaining the all-important Condition damage but losing the Power and Precision. For progression Raiding (if you're attempting to kill a Raid Boss for the first time/learning the fight/don't have the Boss on farm), Viper's with some Trailblazer's (boots and gloves, and possibly shoulders as well) would be good to offer more survivability/margin of error, since your Health Pool and Life Force both increase as a result.
Besides those two no other Armor has both Condition Damage and Expertise, making them very poor choices for DPS CondiReaper.
Why Greatsword over Staff?
The Staff is great for amore Condition-oriented Caster build. It provides more Conditions than the Greatsword, and has more sustained DoT damage. However, the Staff is more cooldown reliant than the Greatsword, especially when the enemy hits Execute range. The Staff attacks slowly with
about 1.4 seconds per attack.
cast time is 1.25 seconds, and does a considerable amount more damage. Also, Gravedigger is a guaranteed Whirl combo finisher, while Necrotic Grasp only has a 20% chance to be. That said, Gravedigger is useless against a creature immune to physical damage {Vale Guardian}. Greatsword is a better choice for extended fights where damage type doesn't matter, and you have the chance to always be in melee range to Gravedigger (while still doing the rotation of course).
Most importantly, though, remember that it's situational.
Why

?
The Berserker runes provides an excellent and safe buff to damage, much safer than

and provides more raw stats than

. Condition duration is always a main priority.

+ Black Diamond is excellent if you have a hard time maintaining Chill on an enemy, or if Food and Consumables aren't frequently available.
