Utility
Usage
Mace/Axe
- Mace/Axe is your primary weapon set, providing consistent damage output.
- Use to disrupt enemies after removing
Stability with .
- Use as frequently as possible for the highest DPS potential.
- Try not to break your auto-attack chain if possible for maximum DPS potential.
Shortbow
- Other than and shortbow skills are vulnerable to projectile reflect/block. Make use of your utility skills to fill downtime when projectile skills are not an option.
- Use to disrupt enemies after removing
Stability with .
Mallyx (Legendary Demon Stance)
- and deal a significant amount of damage for condition builds, don't be afraid to prioritize over weapon skills.
- hits up to five targets in a line, try to save it to remove critical boons such as
Stability and
Resistance.
- Use to absorb conditions from your team and give resistance.
- Keep an eye on your parties conditions using Party View as opposed to Squad View. Save your energy until allies have conditions that need removal, rather than casting preemptively.
- breaks stuns and pays the energy cost at the start of the cast but only gives
Resistance and pulls conditions at the end of the cast. Be careful to avoid interrupts.
- Avoid using if your allies don't need
Resistance.
- If using the variant , this can help cover personal resistance.
- Increase the healing of by first using to pull conditions to yourself.
- Use for heavy damage when clashing.
- pulses burning with each pulse of , which is very useful for condi pressure when making hard drives through the enemy lines.
- Prioritize using for defense if needed, which will still trigger .
Jalis (Legendary Dwarf Stance)
- Use to mitigate damage on pushes or in enemy .
- does solid damage and gives pulsing
Stability. Place it in areas where allies and enemies will be clashing.
- is a lightning field, blast it to stack swiftness before moving out.
A moderate increase in DPS for the loss of a huge amount of support. Swapping out staff for the shortbow does give a range option, but the utility of the staff in the form of a heal, cleanse, block, and huge knockback is lost. The stance skills are weak in the fact that they die fast and are not very useable in open-field fighting unless playing in a pick role from the sidelines.
I cannot feasibly rate this higher even though DPS is higher. Glint is a huge loss. Fury, might, perma swiftness between battles, etc. The renegade stance does not shine enough to warrant the glint loss. I would almost rather run Dwarf than Renegade.
The use of bleeding is a nice addition, however, as it can now cover the torment and burning, allowing them the potential to be more damaging and less cleansed.
UPDATE - 20180522
Changed this build to GREAT (Rating as tested with Dwarf Stance and using Retribution traits). After much testing, I have found that a combination of Dwarf Stance + Versed in Stone is an excellent counter to the SB Bubble meta. Strong damage mitigation capabilities, alternate stab support for parties with Dwarf Stance, very good durability for a push comp. Mallyx provides strong AoE boon rip, and good Resistance access. Damage on this build can be very strong if part of a push comp that can maximize usage of Searing Fissure. Very decent CC with Temporal Rift.
