Usage

DPS hints

Try to use every time you have Stun Stun on enemy.
You have as first source of damage the flat and irremovable +30% damage versus enemy whit this control effect by all attack.

For stun or interrupt enemy use in order of priority:
  • ( enemies within 240 units ) from

  • aoe daze interrupt ( usefull vs multiple stomp on allies)

  • Every aura applied by this build gives 6s ½ Fury Fury , 6s ½ Swiftness Swiftness and 4 sec of protection protection and approximately a 1100 heal for you and same heal for your allies affected by aura.

  • Stack Swiftness Swiftness for your team before the match starts by overloading air, which produces a static field. Executing a blast finisher in the field produces AoE Swiftness.

This is a cool idea and I'm all about gimmick builds. I agree that Lightning Rod is a really cool trait and deserves a much closer look. LR's synergy with Shocking Aura is incredibly strong. That being said, this build needs a lot of refinement. I don't like SoR or going so deep in Earth just for the active use of it. SoR was good because it proc'd off dodges and attunement from the Arcane line way back when, which this build doesn't run. Especially on Tempest, who uses overloads so frequently. That and the nerfs to the earth line make water a better mainbar. I don't like Sigil of Impact. The time your opponents spend disabled (outside of Air 5) is completely negligible. You'll so rarely get value out of it. Almost any other offensive rune would serve you better. Don't like Sages' Amulet either. The condition damage feels like it goes to incredible waste, especially since Drake's Breath has been nerfed so hard. Consider Rune of Surging, which gives another 5 second Shocking Aura on elite use. Overall, I'd say you have a solid idea here though that's worth pursuing further, but needs changes, because it doesn't offer damage/CC close to any other meta class at the moment while being very vulnerable to focus itself.

If you're looking for damage use the Fresh Air build. If you're looking for support use Auramancer. There is no reason to use this over either. Auramancer uses auras much better than this build does.

At moment the only suitable and balanced tempest dps build for ele in ranked.

This build have at same time the best effect of meta auramancer (like protection on aura for you and your ally, fast invulnerability and good clean condi) and a very good dps ( evidently some healing for ally are sacrificed ).

Same set of weapon, almost same utility but a different play-style.

In this build, Shocking aura have very strong passive effect.

Shocking aura ( 240 units ) and the dps reduction from minor grandmaster trait ( 360 unit) work very well.

The same aura work like a cc and dps AoE in the fray, because can interrupt more the one target.

The use of Impact sigil improve in the right way the boost dmg effect on interrupt ( +30% )

I think it is a good start, but more useful if you are using sharing all of your auras with teammates in team fights with Powerful Aura. Also, if you use Rune of Surging in Air, you get 2 Shocking Auras back to back
