  • Evading an attack can reset the CD of Steal thanks to
  • Dodge if you need Swiftness while moving between capture points.
  • Always start the fight with
    (IS) from behind a wall or an object that blocks line of sight (a pillar between you and your target for example). This provides a great and safe escape route that you can use with
    (IR) which also removes a condition. Note that IR has a longer range than IS.
  • The many dodges and evasions on weapon sets provide decent survivability for an otherwise very squishy setup.
  • Don't spam
    mindlessly. You will become easily predictible and locked in an animation while your enemy can set up burst. Find a balance between your autoattacks and flanking strike. Both this skill and its chain
    are unblockable. Larcenous Strike will be your main source of burst damage.
  • , while the Stealth it gives is short, is perfect for losing aggro for a brief time to either reset your position and make another opening or to simply disengage and leave the fight. While in stealth you gain the skill
    which can help with interrupting important skills when
    is on cooldown.
  • Use the mobility provided by Shortbow's
    to get to unguarded enemy points in mere seconds, neutralize (decap) them, then help out your allies in a fight. Don't leave the team fight however if your team can't handle the enemy without you.
  • is a cheap and spammable skill which grants evasion - this can be used while Immobilized if
    is on CD and is an effective way of negating enemy burst.
  • Use
    on downed enemies especially if they are being revived - Poison decreases healing gained by 33% which affects resurrecting speed.

A nice way to break the current bunker / condi cancer meta. If you so wish, deadly arts can be dropped for daredevil giving you access to a third dodge. All mid traits, give you high weakness uptime, condi cleanse on evade (which you have lots) and dash for superior mobility.

A viable alternative to D/P thief, although please be warned that if there is a good D/P Thief in the other team, he can and will hard counter you each and every time he comes across you in 1v1.

Easily the best build for thief right now. Sacrifices a small amount of mobility in exchange for massive utility. Most importantly, it can tank-bust on firebrands, and SBs, and shred holosmiths.

This build being stronger than other s/d builds has been shining in the new tanky meta of Blood Scourges, Firebrands, Druids, and Spell Breakers. The additional 1v1 pressure that core s/d brings is great in the recent ranked meta and can be a good counter to the strength of Mirage. With a fairly high skill ceiling I believe that learning this build too be a good investment for thieves who are looking to enjoy the Path Of Fire's meta.

This build really shines vs non dp thief teams that are stacked with tanky classes because It allows you to take 1v1s vs certain classes and also deals better with the tankyness of FB. I suggest dropping fallibility for courage and run str runes for more damage tho, personal pereference

I pushed this build as soon as Swindler's got buffed alongside flanking strike. It can really harass its target, good pressure even in team fights although you don't want to stay long. Still a capable +1 and while a tad slower to decap than Dash (unless using RFI) it makes up for it in the return if you leave an infiltrator's return point on the way there (especially where there are things you can port "through"). The buff to make flanking strike unblockable again gives S/D great power against warriors and guardians when blocking, and the boon rip is insane (just be wary of corrupts).

Plus, it flows, and it's a ton of fun.

On the skill bar, Agility and SS are musts. Shadow refuge I would remove as a viable option. Shadow trap CAN work, but you often want an extra escape and it has a long cast time unless tripped. RFI is the easiest, safest option, but I advocate for Infiltrator's signet. It's higher skill level to make the most of but it's invaluable in so many situations (catching decap attempts, saving allies, general mobility, chasing, decent passive, stun break and port toward an enemy to get away from the one currently near you i.e. defensive AND offensive applications).

I actually think this is a pretty solid build now especially if you consider deadeye as a variant situational replacement for Deadly Arts. It requires finesse and tact, but s/d and acro does a lot to make up for marauder's squish. Flexibility is its biggest strength imo, with DA/DE to choose from, several viable skill choices, and top notch single target boon purging, it has great synergy with Condition build team mates while still being capable of damage and utility itself.

It could be accused of a utility loss under D/P, particularly due to a mobility hit, but in my mind the mobility hit is worth it to actually be able to go toe to toe with people. acrobatics does feel like a poor man's daredevil sometimes, but as far as poor things go it gets the job done.

Love this build, have been primarily playing it this season and i'm in plat. Has all the usual perks of a thief in PvP, is excellent for 1v1s especially against most other thief builds. If you know what you're doing and aren't just spamming, no other particular builds completely trash or counter it in any way. Great condi cleanse, boon stealing and overall a solid build you can't go wrong with.

Someone on discord recommended this, and it does work. Core power s/d was buffed recently and looks like it may be a strong enough option for not just F2P players. Not as powerful as popular as a Daredevil, but still has some considerable strengths such as double steal.

Moved up as part of our F2P initiative, but it's important to note that this isn't only for F2P players- this has the potential to challenge the elite specs.
