Overview

The Legendary Imbued Shaman has long been known as a pub stomper. If you intend to pull your weight as a member of a Fractal group the Warrior can bring nearly as much utility as the Guardian and no one will realize it was you the whole time. This build will work at any scale. Please note that this is not a Max DPS build, but rather one that can drag a pug group through the encounter if they need a little help.

Usage

  • If your group struggles with the Legendary Imbued Shaman this is a build I've used consistently to help keep the party alive and simultaneously improve party damage.
  • There are several trait interactions which are vital to the proper use of this build during this encounter and it is important for the user to understand their roles.

Weapon Choices:

  • Axe/Warhorn is chosen as the melee set. Axe due to the fantastic damage potential and quick attack speed. Warhorn is chosen due to

    will turn every burning application into Aegis, which mitigates a tremendous amount of pain in this fight. It's quite helpful during the Elemental phase to remove immobilize from teammates, blast fire fields for might, spam weakness on the crowd and vigor to your allies.

Armor and Jewelry Choices:

  • Berserkers is the only choice for many reasons.

Usage:

  • During the standard phase where you will simply be damaging the Imbued Shaman you will basically be playing keep away from the boss with Longbow auto-attack. If you are confident enough in your abilities to melee him, go ahead. Just don't come crying to me when he one shots you and you die because you were downed next to the boss and no one could res you and then your team wipes because they're down a Warrior when Elementals spawn.
  • While ranging the boss you have a few simple jobs.
  • 1. Never stop moving. If you stand still you will catch on fire. If you stand still the boss will murder you with arrows. The best thing to do is find a safe area away from lava pools and strafe back and forth quickly to avoid his arrows.
  • 2. Avoid as much damage as possible. Arrows are the major source of damage. They can be completely avoided if you strafe properly. They can also be avoided if you hide behinds

    etc. etc. If you get hit by an arrow, don't go running next to your teammates and damage them. When a red circle appears near you, dodge out immediately. Never stand in or walk through a lava pool.
  • 3. Watch the bosses health so you can save Longbow cooldowns for every 25% mark.
  • 4. Keep your damage banner in a position that people can benefit from.
  • No one should die during this phase. Nothing you can do will save your team from a suicidal pubbie that can't avoid the easy tells in this part of the fight.
  • At the 25% marks is where this build shines.

    to ensure no one in the team is rooted. When the bubble pops (watch his charges) dodge out to avoid the divebomb, swap back to Longbow and AOE down the Elementals. Clear the adds, regroup and repeat.
  • While cleaning up the adds you will have more dodges than normal, due to vigor spam and burst skills granting endurance. Don't be afraid to dodge and remember your dodges damage at the end.

Situational Utility:

  • Due to being 6 deep in Discipline your cooldown on bursts is very low and your weapon swap cooldown is very low. This gives you the flexibility to swap to Axe/Warhorn and turn anyone and everyone's burning into Aegis. Especially helpful for picking people up since everyone involved will be burning. Swapping to Axe can also give you a nice single target burst with Eviscerate to pick off a marked target and force a rally.
  • Always keep an eye on the party, if someone is low and burning find them and give them Aegis.

    has a good amount of utility as well, you can pop it to res someone in AOE or if the boss catches you after popping the bubble with your pants down (immobilized and out of cooldowns) you can easily survive.

Final Thoughts:

  • It's important to keep in mind that the non-elemental phases are not a DPS race. You can take the time to regroup if someone goes down. If the adds are clear it's relatively simple to res someone who is completely dead, you just need one person who knows how to kite.
