Great start here. I'd really recommend going towards a system where all builds are concentrated in a build spacing using the prefix "Build:" in front of all build posts like we did back on PvX. This helps separate build pages from normal administrative pages and really helps reduce clutter + confusion. Another more lofty goal would be to implement some really pretty templates for skills + traits that include mouseover popouts for skill/trait information. My backend knowledge on wikis is really rusty, but we might be able to get some people from GW2W to give us a hand on that front.--TahiriVeila (talk) 17:41, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

also an "Archive:" space for archiving defunct builds after balance changes + updatesTahiriVeila (talk) 17:46, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
I am getting used to the wiki script since I haven't worked with it earlier so I have no idea on how to create custom prefix such as "Category", in this case "Build". If someone have any idea on how this is done feel free to inform me and I will see what I can do. At this moment the problem with that is if you place "Build" infront of the build title all builds will be located under the "B" category when looking at them. Regarding the template looks, feel free to create a template if you are good at designing them and I will make sure to make them official if they are better looking :D --MetaBattle (talk) 22:06, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
Yeah i never did anything on the back-end at PvX either, let me talk to some people and see if they're interested in helping out with stuff like templates. Then AFAIK you should be able to just have everyone submit builds articles as "Build:Prof - Name" and then as long as they tag it appropriately it should still show up in the appropriate tag. Then we should able to make a duplicate of the build header but for archives. Then when it's time to move a build into the archive you just move the build to from "Build:Prof - Name" to "Archive:Prof - Name" and change the build header to an archive header.--TahiriVeila (talk) 23:16, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
Ah I see what you mean though. If we title everything "Build:Prof - Name" they won't get sorted alphabetically by profession anymore. Let me play around and see if I can figure out how to do that without breaking the whole wiki =D--TahiriVeila (talk) 23:18, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Edited the page to fix a typo under the Usage part. Hanz (talk) 08:50, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I've never had real back-end access to PvXwiki so I've never defined a custom namespace myself. This page from the mediawiki manual might be helpful though. Toraen (talk) 19:26, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Also, there apparently is a custom namespace in use on the wiki, labeled "MetaBattle - Guild Wars 2 Meta Builds", which is really long and kind of silly for a namespace. It doesn't have anything in it though. Toraen (talk) 19:31, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Namespace! Thats how it called! Thanks for that, I have been trying to find info about this without any luck before I saw your post. I have added the "Build" namespace like you guys requested.--Galaxian (talk) 21:57, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Excellent thank you! It probably won't be necessary until the next balance patch, but would you mind creating anArchive namespace also? Also, is it possible to turn off captcha for email-confirmed users?--TahiriVeila (talk) 23:46, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Or just in general? Properly maintained abusefilter will take care of any bot problems you might run into. -Auron 23:51, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
I will turn off the captcha when editing for users and create the Archive namespace right away. May I ask if you have any experience with the abusefilter Auron since I am not quite sure which one should be added? I have added a few filters but it doesn't feel safe at all :/
Toraen will know for sure ^__^ he's been the primary administrator on PvX for the last 2.5 years--TahiriVeila (talk) 00:07, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Slightly confused[edit]

What do these number/pound signs in our pages do <!-- ########## Information settings ########## --> I've made a test page here without them and the page looks fine. I've also changed the headings from =Heading= to ==Heading== so there is less random lines and it has a cleaner look. =Heading= should technically be reserved for the highest titles in an article not the individual sections and their subsections. It would a be a pain to fix it but we shouldn't have excess stuff on our pages. --Human icon.png Dantes (talk) 00:41, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

They are just comments, they don't do anything on the front, just server as words for editors to read. Headings having two = signs (==) is correct. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 02:21, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Alright then I'm going to start changing them from (=) to (==), it just looks better without all the random horizontal lines. Going to start with the PvP section since I don't think I'll interfere with anyone. --Human icon.png Dantes (talk) 15:15, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

The new meta/build pics look great, but I think a frame around them could still improve them Fredor (talk) 21:40, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Protection Icon[edit]

When using {Gw2skill|Protection} (

Protection Protection
Apply protection to yourself.
Protection.pngProtection (10s): -33% Incoming Damage
Range.pngRange: 1,200

) it directs to the ranger pet skill protection, could it be changed to the boon instead as that's much more common? The ranger's skill could use something like {Gw2skill|rangerpetprotection} Zyke (talk) 08:50, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

I don't think we have {Gw2boon|Protection} yet. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 12:34, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
