Onlywrin/open world test2
About This Section
This section is dedicated to providing fun and effective builds for open world content, which can range from simple solo farms, to meta trains, to bounty solos. The builds are divided into five categories:
- Roaming - Builds for general open world, useful when by yourself or with a small group
- Zerging - Builds tailored for playing in a large group, ideal for meta chains like Drizzlewood Coast.
- Solo - Builds tailored for soloing hard content, such as bounties or large group events.
- Tagging - Builds specifically created for maximizing the number of mob tags possible during a farming session. Useful for Lake Doric, Mad King's Labyrinth, or LS4 Trains.
- Leveling - Builds for leveling up pre-80.
Builds meant for general open world. Useful for Map Completion, solo farming, or completing events without much assistance from allies.
Sub-Category of Roaming: Niche builds designed to be able to complete extremely difficult content without assistance from allies. Useful for soloing difficult bosses, group events, or even some bounties. These builds typically require at least some class knowledge to play effectively.
Builds for farming in large groups; typically most useful for farming event chains or map metas like Drizzlewood Coast, Silverwastes, or Dragonfall.
Sub-Category of Zerging: Extremely niche builds designed for maximizing the number of possible tags. Useful for LS4 Farm Trains, the Mad King's Labyrinth, or the Lake Doric Leather Farm.

Peu Research Center
Thanks to the hard work of Peureki, an open world commander, we now have access to the Peu Research Center Benchmarks, which can give you a good idea on where you might look to start farming.
Guild Wars 2 Efficiency is an extremely useful tool for any Guild Wars 2 player and is recommended for everyone. All you need to start is your API key!
We have several partner communities which help us shape some of the builds found here. They provide critical feedback and are a great place to learn how to farm, especially in open world.
Metabattle Discord Server
Is advertising our own server here cheating? Well, yes, but you should still join our Discord.
Overflow Trading Company
Overflow is a community that focuses on trading and farming. They're full of helpful individuals and provide a very active and well-managed trading forum. Overflow and their affiliates frequently host farming trains and have many resources for players looking to break into gold farming.
Our Open World Curator's guild of choice, Shiney Mayhem is a farming community that hosts frequent trains. You do not have to be a guild member to participate, though they're awesome enough that you should be one ;)
Q: Can I play these builds in dungeons, fractals, and/or raids?
Q: I don't have the right stats/runes/sigils/unlocked traits for this build. Can I still play it?
A: Yes, but your effectiveness will be limited. Having the right gear and traits is important for maximizing a build's potential. You can still run a build that's close to the recommended build, but you should work your way up to the right gear/traits eventually. Some builds will not function without certain traits, so its worth looking into.
Q: I haven't reached level 80 and don't have these skills/traits unlocked. What should I do?
A: Under level 80 you shouldn't worry about running the absolute best build. Instead, you should try out different weapons, skills, and traits to learn how they work. If you start finding story missions/normal enemies difficult, make sure you're wearing gear appropriate to your level. If you aren't, you can always visit an Armorsmith or Weaponsmith which always offer basic gear within your level range.
Q: The build suggests (X weapon/skill/trait) but I find (Y weapon/skill/trait) more fun to use. Can I use that instead?
A: The short answer is "sure!". The long answer is that you should study the class and learn why those traits are being taken. From there you can make decisions about other traits or weapons based off your current knowledge of the game and optimize for your own fun while maintaining a decent build :)
Q: I would like to contribute suggestions/gameplay tips/new builds. Where do I start?
