While the basic build drastically increases the groups damage output, it allows a lot of modifications to adapt to every situation and provide more defensive utilities for the group if necessary. You can play this build effectively in dungeons, fractals and raids.

UPDATE Post July 18th patch - Chrono has already been struggling in FOTM, but the latest nerfs obliterated support chrono's viability in FOTM. Power chrono is still good, but for boon/support Firebrigade is now the way to go.

OLD RATING:Still viable, but not meta anymore. Goof for statics etc, but in a pug scenario taking a FB even without an alacrigade, will make for a smoother run.

Absolutely loving this build. Easy to obtain the full optimal set in just a few short days, and extremely effective both in and out of Fractals. Highly recommended for any Mesmer user, and makes good use out of the new ''Serpentine Jewels''. Rotation takes practice but that is to be expected with any build. 5 stars from me. Literally cannot imagine a 5 man group without this in any PvE content.

Chrono is the only class that can provide "permanent" uptime on both quickness and alacrity, ensuring it will always have a place in the meta. It also deals pretty good dps and brings a lot of useful cheese and skips.

Still able to keep up Quickness and Alacrity, and thanks to Diviners gear and the new Signet of Inspiration is able to keep up more personal DPS than ever before while doing so. While not absolutely compulsory any more, boon chrono isn't going away completely anytime soon and is a valuable member in almost all groups.

Still more than viable contrary to ratings below (just look at what pugs ask for, or half the logs on the leaderboards for frac CMs on raidar for example), it just can't share any boons that aren't Alacrity/Quickness/Aegis anymore. The new Signet of Inspiration is much more powerful than you think, extending boons for 5 secs WITHOUT any boon duration at all, allowing a support Chrono to do actual DPS again, which is huge.

Chrono no longer being mandatory does not mean it is dead. It is still more than viable, and still a very good pick for a support class that meshes well with a lot of other builds. You just can't faceroll and expect to have boons any more. Make sure people stay in your wells, make sure not to waste Signet of Inspiration before wells expire, and make sure that your DPS understands you can't carry them on CC any more.
