  • is your bread and butter damage skill, try to land it as often as possible.
    • will only hit a maximum of 5 targets across all three pulses and increases in damage the further the pulse is from you. Try to hit with the second or third pulse rather than the first when possible.
  • gives a 1.25s Evade frame and a Blast Finisher, be careful not to get caught behind your group while casting this skill.
    • You can through traps and marks to activate them without taking any damage.
  • has a long cast time, so try to predict where the enemies will go or use it on stationary targets like downed players that the enemy will move on to.

  • is a blast finisher and also cleanses conditions.
  • Avoid damage with .
  • Use to disrupt players trying to finish/revive downs.

Glint (Legendary Dragon Stance)

  • up time is very important, try to maintain your group's fury.
  • is a stun break.
  • 's chain effect converts all damage you take into healing for 3 seconds. This is a strong tool against condition pressure.
  • can be used to move downed opponents out of banner range and interrupt rezes.
  • has an obvious tell and is easy to dodge, stow weapons to cancel casting if its about to be evaded/blinded - this will save all the energy cost and only send the skill on a cd of 4 seconds. The same qualities make this skill perfect for fake casting by stowing weapon immediately after beginning to cast, baiting enemy dodges/blocks.
  • When running to/from objectives, speed up your zerg with .

Mallyx (Legendary Demon Stance)

  • Use to absorb conditions from your team and give resistance.
    • Keep an eye on your parties conditions using Party View as opposed to Squad View. Save your energy until allies have conditions that need removal, rather than casting preemptively.
    • breaks stuns and pays the energy cost at the start of the cast but only gives Resistance Resistance and pulls conditions at the end of the cast. Be careful to avoid interrupts.
  • hits up to five targets in a line, try to save it to remove critical boons such as Stability Stability and Resistance Resistance.
  • Increase the healing of by first using to pull conditions to yourself.

Jalis (Legendary Dwarf Stance)

  • Try to time to mitigate damage, don't simply use it as soon as you enter Dwarf stance.
    • Try to have the buff up as engages begin, when an enemy player is being cleaved or a friendly player is being rezzed.
  • does solid damage and gives pulsing Stability Stability, try to place it in areas where allies and enemies will be clashing.
  • is a lightning field, blast it to stack swiftness before moving out.

  • Reliant on team for stability
  • Skill usage is reliant on energy management
  • Limited stun breaks
  • Potential to be locked into the wrong stance at the wrong time

The best rev build, provides massive amount of party sustain and damage. Should be in the meta section over the backline one.

Hands down, best Rev build for the current meta as of 5/2019. Dwarf gives great push support through damage reduction and 2nd stability access. Glint gives great boon support with access to superspeed and reveal, both useful in the current meta. Very strong support, still considerable damage due to damage modifiers.

Really good build. Always use invocation and switch devastation or retribution depending how much you rallybot. I would equip some other gear and it is pretty easy to have 100% crit and still be tanky enough to stay on tag.

I run this build in group WvW and it has great sustain and damage.

I call it an immortal build and so many advantages such as boonshare, CC and fantastic damage!

A stable in frontline parties- the boon contribution alone makes this build good, but coupled with the high personal sustain and ability to deal some of the best damage in the zerg let alone your front line makes this an excellent build that is a must have for any competitive zerg.

Arete gave this build 5 stars July 2016

Extremely strong and easy to use build that forms a core part of WvW frontline along with AH guard. Other classes such as Guardian and Chronomancer have similar passive might stacking and resistance generation, but none compare to the extremely high damage, utility, personal stability and flexibility of frontline Herald.

Frontline Herald is good, but this build is too squishy for a frontline without stability. The armor needs to be soldier. Traits are good, same for runes and sigils. Normally i swap mallix for jalis.

Marauder's is quite easy to make. You can use this recipe:

An alternative to Marauder's would be a mix of Soldier's and Berserker gear.

You should take devastation over herald though, it is higher average dps and group damage buff and an unblockability proc if you are the only herald in your party.

Great build that showcases all the requirements for the revenant in zergs.

I tried this build out and I had a blast on it. I suck at revenant, but wanted to try it and had a hard time with the other build for GvG. With this build, I didn't down once and on our server, we're usually facing 40+ (DB). I haven't used it in an actual GvG situation, but it had great support for the zerg and still put out a ton of damage. The only thing I can think of is maybe you should add a couple more rune and sigil options? I used Hoelbrak rather than Melandru with it before I changed it to Durability (took me a while to get them). I lived longer with Durability once I did get them, but put out more damage with Hoelbrak. Making the items on here a little more accessible is the only thing I can see that would be an issue.
