Staple necromancer build, core of any WvW comp. Cleave is a beast all from nice range with support.

Extremely strong build with little change over time. Bring the highest ranged damage potential to the table, and decent boon corruption. Arguably higher damage potential could be had if using Strength runes and Berserker/Marauder's armor. Very low personal survivability and must rely on group support for sustain.

This build is a strong AoE backliner, as well as being very easy to use, it has no mobility however.

This build is a strong AoE backliner, not only is it easy to use but it is also easy to gear compared to most other builds. Very good start for players without HoT. Only thing is that it lacks mobility.

I like this build. I run the same trait line with straight berserker armor and chrono runes and my slot skills are wells of blood, power, corruption, and suffering with plauge as my elite. With so many wvw players still playing with the idea of boonspam, corruption is probably the number one reason to have necromancers in your group. To make up for the glass nature of the necro, plauge will double your HP while in that form. Between plague and death shroud, the build gives me the feeling of having 3 health bars to make up for the low defense. I still prefer this build over the midline reaper wells build.

This build is actually surprisingly strong, and it's generally a nice alternative to the mid-line reaper build. I would consider equipping Runes of the Chronomancer for the quickness assuming that fury is kept up without Runes of the Pack. It lacks stability, but despite this I'd say it's one of the better backline builds regardless.

Alongside backline staff ele one of the strongest backline builds. Weaker since the stability change because of stronger melee trains due to being an easier target than its reaper cousin but brings higher single target dps potential and is generally better from a pure backlining perspective.
