Usage

Boons

This build is built around maintaining as many boons on yourself as possible. The key skill is , which makes your boon-generating skills much more effective. Once in Moa Stance you can do any combination of the following:
Once you have stacked Might Might, Fury Fury, Protection Protection, Regeneration Regeneration, and Quickness Quickness to your heart's desire, you can share those boons to your pet with and then grant them back to yourself by entering . This provides you with an absurd amount of damage and survivability for the next ~20 seconds.
  • In long fights, just keep refreshing your boons on cooldown.
  • Your boon sharing will also benefit nearby allies (although they won't get Quickness Quickness).

Damage

  • can be used to reset Maul.
  • Remember to maintain Quickness Quickness by using or .
  • If all your main damage skills are on cooldown, just swap between your weapons autoattacking and using the above skills whenever available.

Defense

  • You have a lot of Protection Protection and Regeneration Regeneration with this build which can help you survive enemy aggro.
  • can be used to evade attacks.
    • Note that this skill is not instant cast like a normal dodge and will only queue after your current animation. To instantly evade something, stow your weapon and then press the skill.
  • blocks attacks. The retaliatory attack doesn't trigger if you are jumping or out of range, allowing you to block multiple attacks with one .
  • The third hit of your greatsword autoattack is an evade, but this can be difficult to time properly.
  • Remember to always dodge and sidestep attacks if possible. Don't get hit by anything you can move out of.
  • If you're dying a lot consider traiting or running the Wilderness Survival traitline.

Running this at the moment and enjoying it, it's not too bad at open world boon support too.

I had to create an account just to say how amazing I've found this build to be. The survivability is insane. And I honestly dont see that big a drop in damage from other builds. Absolutely loving it. It has rekindled my love for Ranger.

Sure it can stay alive a long time, but damage is extremely poor compared to other Ranger builds, proving that traits are just as important as gear for doing damage.

Just started using this build. It's ridiculous, i can pretty much solo everything.

Have been playing with this for a while now both in PvE and WvW, works great! Phenomenal might ramp, perpetual swiftness, regen and fury, among others, all attesting to incredible survivability and good damage output. Really enjoyable to play. Some occasions even feels too good to be true. The rotation in it's simplicity still continues to make the build interesting and fun.

This build feels broken when compared to the Longbow Beastmastery build. Near perma protection, 25 stacks of might, retaliation, regen, a ton of quickness and stability up time. You're practically unstoppable. I used Water Rune for that extra sustain and its very worth it with healing something like 600 hp per second permanently. 10% less boon time with scholars was an easy trade.. For the most part, you don't "need" 10 more percent boon time. Love the build!
