:::: I don't think English works that way xP I like S/x DPS too but Utility DPS imo means it's a DPS build with great uility. But I'm not a native speaker so idk. --Hanz(talk) 09:55, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

:::: I think "Alacrity DPS" is fine too. People know the general idea that giving alacrity to everyone else lowers their personal DPS but is still useful. And almost all mesmers have "utility", that's definitely too vague. I also liked the idea of Alacrity Anchor as it's used to hold the vale guardian down but doesn't use the word "tank" so we can explain toughness there lol. DPS is pretty common theme for all builds as well. I would try to use something that is "unique" to the build, in this case using their boon and role to define the name. General

The current situation of PVE Chrono builds here is a mess! Tough there are a few good approaches none is very comprehensive or detailed. They all lack some valid options and promote some questionable default trait or weapon choices.

Because the original Mesmer - S/S /F /P build is very good and detailed I used it as a foundation for a new comprehensive Chrono guide which contains and improves the other builds previously posted here. With the current state of the Chronomancer there are a lot valid choices depending on encounter so I posted a lot of variations with short explanations when to use them.

Gj but could someone tone down the Overview a bit? It should be only 1 or max 2 sentences not a novel :P --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 15:24, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Rename?

It doesn't make sense for a build with so many possible variations to have such a specific (not to mention confusing) name. Shouldn't it be changed to something like "Chronomancer - Utility DPS"? -Somohexual (talk) 19:48, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

It was named after the "Mesmer - S/S /F /P" build. But I guess you certainly have a point. I also like your suggestion. Neijala (talk) 12:08, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
Valid point. Utility DPS sound good, or maybe we could just make it be S/x DPS? --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 12:24, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
I prefer Utility DPS. You take a Mesmer because of his utility and not because of his raw damage numbers. Besides there are no DPS builds not using Sword in PvE, so using the weapon to discribe it doens't make that much sense. Neijala (talk) 13:39, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
they are mostly using shield phantasms and quickness boons in raids. So offensive support should do well enough Fredor (talk) 12:50, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
I changed my opinion. We should call it s/x support since it has so many variants.Fredor (talk) 15:13, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
Chronomancer Utility DPS is a very confusing name since it doesn't do dps via utilities. It either supports the group with shield phantasms, wells and time warp or does support with wells, time warp and dps with sword phantasms. Thus I would suggest using one of the other build names that have been discussed. Fredor (talk) 13:20, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
I apologize for not understanding much about mes/chrono, but if it's too broad why don't you guys split into two builds? --LordShuckle (talk) 13:27, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Mesmers have to adapt their builds to certain encounters all the time, so this was the best option. The common theme is that the mesmer uses a sword and supports the team in various ways. Since utility dps indicates that it does dps by using utilities which is simply not true. So please rename it so something without dps and support in the name. (I sill favor my S/X Dps of course ;P ) Fredor (talk) 09:47, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

Why not simply name it 'DPS and Support' / 'DPS and Utility'. Should make it clear that the DPS doesn't come from the utilities. Neijala (talk) 10:01, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
