Overview

The condition DPS Renegade build for raids. This build has a difficult rotation which requires lots of practice to perform well with. In exchange for the difficulty it brings very high sustained damage, very good CC, high Vulnerability Vulnerability, and multiple supportive auras including Breakrazor's Bastion and Soulcleave's Summit.

Relic
  • On encounters with significant enough time where you cannot melee the boss, replacing the Sigil of Superior Sigil of Geomancy with a Sigil of Superior Sigil of Earth may be higher damage.
  • Relic of Akeem is almost identical damage and is AoE, but requires using CC during the rotation to trigger it.

Non-SotO relics

Unfortunately none of the core damage relics are particularly strong for condi renegade. You could pick an option that offers some utility instead, or:

  • The rotation uses Embrace the Darkness almost exactly every 30s, so Relic of the Krait wouldn't be completely terrible.
  • Relic of the Aristocracy could work if you switch the pairings of legends and weapons, so that you can build stacks up in Legendary Demon Stance with Echoing Eruption, and Icerazor's Ire in Legendary Renegade Stance.
    • You should use (or ascended versions) with this.

Consumables

    • You could also use (or ascended versions) - this is only a small DPS loss

Usage

Rotation Fundamentals

Every ability a Revenant has (apart from autoattacks) uses energy. While this regenerates slowly on its own, you will typically spend more that you can regain so swapping legend is necessary. Swapping legend resets energy to 50 (or 75 if you swapped below 10 energy and are using Charged Mists) so in general you will want to do this off cooldown so you can afford to keep using your skills.

For condi Renegade, you combine your legend swaps with weapon swaps to better spend energy and as legend swaps will also trigger weapon swaps, you can "double dip" on swap sigils (Sigil of Superior Sigil of Doom and Sigil of Superior Sigil of Geomancy) by legend swapping before you weapon swap.

Beginner Rotation Toggle

You cannot avoid really legend swapping on Revenant, but things can be simplified in two ways:

First, by taking Song of the Mists as the grandmaster trait in Invocation, you no longer have to worry about swapping only below 10 energy.

Second, you can opt to camp Shortbow. This is the higher damage weapon and also has the advantage of being ranged and not locking you into animations.

With this setup, use shortbow skills 2-4 off cooldown, and legend swap off cooldown as well.

  • When swapping to Legendary Renegade Stance, you will have enough energy to use Razorclaw's Rage and Icerazor's Ire once each - the timing isn't very important, just don't delay the next legend swap.
  • When swapping to Legendary Demon Stance, immediately activate Embrace the Darkness and leave it running - this pulses damage in a small area around you, so if you cannot be close to your target, stay in Legendary Renegade Stance.
Simplified Rotation (by Masel) Toggle

The next step will be to add in weapon swapping, but keeping Song of the Mists as the grandmaster trait in Invocation.

The fundamental ideas are the same, but shortly after legend swapping, you should also weapon swap. With only 50 energy to spend in each legend, it is better to pair Shortbow with Legendary Renegade Stance and Mace/Axe with Legendary Demon Stance. In comparison to the full rotation, this also has the convenient effect of pairing the ranged weapon with legend skills that can be used at range. You can also swap the positions of the Sigil of Superior Sigil of Geomancy with the Sigil of Superior Sigil of Earth on your weapons - this will ensure that all your melee damage is on the same set, and also allow you to remain in Legendary Renegade Stance if you are forced to be at range for an extended period of time.

Be aware that the pairing of legends and weapons is the other way around in the full rotation, so you may develop muscle memory that you then have to unlearn if you move on to the full rotation later.

Opener
Start on Legendary Renegade Stance and Shortbow

  1. Razorclaw's Rage
  2. Spiritcrush
  3. Sevenshot
  4. Bloodbane Path
  5. Legendary Demon Stance

Rest of the Rotation

  • When swapping to Legendary Demon Stance, immediately activate Embrace the Darkness and leave it running - this pulses damage in a small area around you, so if you cannot be close to your target, stay in Legendary Renegade Stance.
  • On Mace/Axe, use skills 2, 3 and 5 off cooldown.
    • If you start with Searing Fissure, you can get four uses off before switching back to Legendary Renegade Stance and Shortbow. This is secondary to ensuring you can legend swap off cooldown, so don't worry about it if you can't reliably use Bloodbane Path off cooldown or you think you won't have permanent Quickness Quickness and Alacrity Alacrity.

Rotation

The full rotation is heavily optimised to ensure that you end up below 10 energy just as it is time to legend swap, to gain the extra 25 energy each swap from Charged Mists. This means the rotation needs to be performed well, as well as being very dependent on good Quickness Quickness and Alacrity Alacrity uptime.

Opener
Start in Legendary Renegade Stance and on Mace/Axe.

  1. Temporal Rift
  2. Citadel Bombardment
  3. Echoing Eruption
  4. Legendary Demon Stance

Mallyx
The stronger effect of Embrace the Darkness can only be activated once per pulse, so a single autoattack is added after key skills to ensure that no pulses are wasted. This requires precision to avoid either cancelling Shattershot or delaying your legend swap, so it may be better in practise not to worry about it.

Note that some steps can be ignored if you aren't using Relic of Akeem.

  1. Embrace the Darkness
  2. Searing Fissure
  3. Weapon swap Weapon swap
  4. Bloodbane Path, Shattershot
  5. Spiritcrush, Shattershot
  6. Sevenshot, Shattershot
  7. Scorchrazor (only if using Relic of Akeem)
  8. Bloodbane Path, Shattershot
  9. Resist the Darkness (only if using Relic of Akeem)
  10. Shattershot until Bloodbane Path is available
  11. Bloodbane Path, Shattershot
  12. Embrace the Darkness (only if using Relic of Akeem)
  13. Sevenshot
  14. Spiritcrush
  15. Legendary Renegade Stance

Kalla

  1. Bloodbane Path
  2. Weapon swap Weapon swap
  3. Searing Fissure
  4. Echoing Eruption
  5. Citadel Bombardment
  6. Temporal Rift
  7. Misery Swipe - it is efficient to get a single auto in here, but don't worry too much about it
  8. Searing Fissure
  9. Auto-attack chain twice
  10. Searing Fissure
  11. Razorclaw's Rage
  12. Icerazor's Ire
  13. Misery Swipe - it is efficient to get a single auto in here, but don't worry too much about it
  14. Echoing Eruption
  15. Repeat from Mallyx

General Tips

  • While in Mace/Axe, always try to let your Auto Attack chain finish, as the last hits are very strong.
  • On most fights, there are going to be moments when you can't hit the boss, but you'll still gain energy. During these phases, use Heroic Command and Orders from Above to help keep boons up.
  • Try to avoid canceling Bloodbane Path during its cast.
  • If running Righteous Rebel, replace Icerazor's Ire with Orders from Above.
  • As Razorclaw's Rage does not stack, you only want to have one Kalla renegade in each subgroup (unless one adjusts their rotation). Any additional renegades can take Shiro instead of Kalla.
    • If taking Shiro, activate Impossible Odds during the cast of Temporal Rift and otherwise keep the rotation the same (minus the Kalla skills, obviously).

Breakbars

  • Temporal Rift
  • Scorchrazor
  • Darkrazor's Daring

High DPS, though still somewhat susceptible to interruptions messing with energy management and ramps that damage incredibly slowly. Able to provide extra utility in an emergency such as high CC, boon rip, alacrity or healing.
