Overview

A durable condition-based Holosmith for general open world content that emphasizes high survivability at a cost of lower burst damage. It still maintains high sustained damage thanks to easy application of Burning stacks.

• Elixir H - More boons and simpler to use, but no condi cleanse and less Regeneration uptime.
• Coolant Blast - Better condi cleanse and mobility, but less burst healing and fewer boons.

Utilities

It is strongly advised to use both Spectrum Shield and Hard Light Arena since they provide the majority of this build's survivability.

• Laser Disk - Lower DPS than kits but easier to use.
• Rocket Boots - High mobility and AoE Burning on demand.
• Elixir U - More Quickness and stun breaks.

Runes

• Rune of Superior Rune of Balthazar - More health without sacrificing Burning duration.
• Rune of Superior Rune of the Berserker, Rune of Superior Rune of the Elementalist, Rune of Superior Rune of the Renegade - Higher DPS options.
• Rune of Superior Rune of the Herald, Rune of Superior Rune of Durability, Rune of Superior Rune of Divinity - Defensive options.

Sigils

• Sigil of Superior Sigil of Geomancy - AoE bleed when dropping holo forge and weapon kits.
• Sigil of Superior Sigil of Earth - More bleeding damage, easier to use than Sigil of Superior Sigil of Geomancy.
• Sigil of Superior Sigil of Bursting - Use instead of Sigil of Superior Sigil of Malice if using a Rune set that doesn't increase condi duration.

• Any ascended food is superior to any other food you could use. Steak for power, flatbread for conditions. Budget versions of these foods exist and are acceptable.

Usage

Damage

• Forge: Use Photon Blitz and Corona Burst off cooldown, fill in with autoattacks.
• Toolbelt: Use Incendiary Ammo off cooldown.
• Use Refraction Cutter and Radiant Arc off cooldown, especially at high heat right after dropping forge.
• Use Blowtorch off cooldown and as close as possible to an enemy.
• Use Prime Light Beam off cooldown, but only over 50 heat.
• Auto-attack if the above are all on cooldown, especially if above 100 heat.
• Flamethrower: Use Napalm then Flame Blast. If Forge is at high heat, auto-attack with Flamethrower until either Blowtorch or Forge is available again.

Zerg Tagging

• Equip Flamethrower, stay in range of mobs, and focus on using autoattacks for easy AoE tagging. Napalm and Flame Blast can help with enemies at longer ranges.
• Consider using Rocket Boots, Crystal Configuration: Storm, and/or Elite Mortar Kit if zerging for an extended period of time.
• Holo Leap can help keep up with the main body of the zerg if not using Rocket Boots.

Defense

• Spectrum Shield is an extremely potent defensive cooldown. It grants 50% damage reduction and functions as a stunbreak. This is your bread and butter for any challenging content.
• Flash Spark and Smoke Vent are area blinds.
• Hard Light Arena provides considerable Protection and Regeneration uptime and should be used as often as possible above 50 heat.

Crowd Control

• Prismatic Singularity, also counts as an explosion.
• Holographic Shockwave, also acts as a blast finisher.
