Overview

Power Soulbeast is a very bursty power build. It features good damage, amazing burst, high mobility, and good cc. It also has flexibility for deciding which mainhand weapon to use, as they are all good.

Weapon Variants

You can manually chose your hammer skills (as if they were utility skills). Use all the Unleashed versions: Unleashed Wild Swing, Unleashed Overbearing Smash, Unleashed Savage Shock Wave, and Unleashed Thump. If you don't have access to Weaponmaster Training with Secrets of the Obscure, you won't be able to wield a hammer. Use other weapon:

• Longbow - great ranged weapon
• Sword - higher DPS than Axe but melee only.
• Greatsword - great burst with a block
• Dual Maces - very strong weapons for solo play. Requires Expanded Weapon Proficiency from Secrets of the Obscure.

Skill Variants

Heal skill

• Bear Stance - extreme condi cleanse but no boon extension.

Utility skill

• Dolyak Stance - removes and prevents immob, chill, and cripple, and gives stability.
• Signet of Stone - passive toughness + panic button.

Pet variants

You are almost always going to be merged with your pet for the massive bonuses from the Beastmastery traitline.

The suggested Smokescale gives you a useful evade and CC, while Rock Gazelle has more CC, and a dash.

• Eagle - long dash for more mobility.
• Jacaranda - heal and condi cleanse.
• Black Bear - Very strong defensive abilities.

Relic

• Rune of Superior Rune of the Dragonhunter and Rune of Superior Rune of the Scholar are interchangeable.
• For defense, equip the highest tier Jade Core you can afford. Use defensive food, traits, or skills if required. If necessary, use Knight trinkets.

Usage

Damage

• When fighting durable enemies, use "Sic 'Em!" for a 25% damage increase.
• Whirling Defense deals massive damage but has a long casting time, try to use it while under the effects of quickness after casting Worldly Impact due to Live Fast.
• When possible, flank your enemy (attacking from behind or the sides) to benefit from Hunter's Tactics.
• Try to use Crowd Control before unleashing your burst to benefit from Twice as Vicious.
• Always use Moa Stance before fights to start with Fury to benefit from Furious Strength. Remember that "We Heal As One!" extends the duration of your existing boons.

• Try to not interrupt your auto attack chain.
• Use your axe skills Splitblade and Winter's Bite off cooldown.
• Save your long-cooldown high-hitting attacks Worldly Impact and Whirling Defense to use together with "Sic 'Em!".

Defense

• Most of the defense with this build will come from dodging, as it has few blocks or other defensive cooldowns. Greatsword offers more thanks to Counterattack and Smoke Assault is a very useful evade.
• When under preassure, use Leave Beastmode to unmerge with your pet so it may tank while you disengage.
• When merged with a bear, you can use Unflinching Fortitude and Defy Pain (soulbeast) to negate strike damage for up to 7 seconds.
• When merged with a Jacaranda you can use Photosynthesize (soulbeast) to heal and cleanse conditions, and Spiritual Reprieve to heal.
