SUPER SERIOUS WTF QQ PEWPEW GG NO RE WOUTER ON PMS CAUSE ALWAYS HUNGRY INSANITY PVE
- Hello guiiiise, my name is Jan :D , and I am a VERY KIND ( NOT MEAN ) young man, who only gets irritated when the so called 'hardcore gamers' shittalk content about how easy it is, and then cannot deliver the gameplay.. I also get irritated by bad use of logic, but that's not to talk about now. Much love! <3 ..So HERE I will present with the so called 'meta builds' and guides, so that when the time comes TO PLAY, there will be no confusions and only PEWPEW. I think we understand eachother, that's great ^__~
- BERSERKER METABETAALPHAOMEGA#HASHTAG
Guardian<3
- Required armour
- Armour: Berserker (only)
- Runes: Scholar (Flame Legion, if weak)
- Required weapons
- Weapons: Berserker: Greatsword; Hammer; Staff; Sword; Mace; Scepter; Focus; Torch; (Yeah torch.. for dark places and @#!$)
- Sigil: Night+Force; Night+Slaying; Slaying+Force (Best DPS output)
- There are other variants for other builds, but I don't think it's necessary.
- Required DPS consumables
- Apple: Plate of Truffle Steak; Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup; Plate of Steak and Asparagus; Dragon's Breath Bun; Bowl of Seaweed Salad
- Crowbar: Slaying Potions (Undead, Inquest, Elemental, Dredge, Destroyer, Flame Legion, Nightmare, Svanir, Outcast, Toxic Alliance); Sharpening Stones; Maintenance Oils; Skale Venom
- Some of this food is expensive, but most of it is not, so try to have as much as you can, as well as you need to consume them accordingly.
- Builds
- Generic setup (Highest DPS output/A bit lower DPS with support)
- Greatsword/Sword-Mace-Scepter+Focus+Torch
- Guardian is there, to give partywide support (even when max. DPS), and a pretty decent DPS overall. It's "defensive" capabilities, even though you don't have many as a berserker, still give you enough to face-tank or pull mobs and by up front.

- Other Utility variations and guides
- When heavy support is needed, go for Support build, which should revolve around blocks, stability and walls, depending on the situation (use your head) ("Retreat!"; "Stand Your Ground"; Hallowed Ground; Shield of Avenger; Wall of Reflection; Sanctuary;) , but if you have a free spot, then "Save Yourselves!" can be a nice boost, as 3rd minor trait in Virtues (Power of the Virtuous) gives you +1% damage for each boon.
- When no support is needed at all, choose Best DPS, as it delivers highest DPS output. You can use it at all times as well, if you tweak it a little, for example 4/6/0/0/4, when only a little support is needed, it should be enough (advised, NEED THAT DPS!). You can also switch out Renewed Focus for Tome of Wrath (only use skill #4), to get that quickness and boost party-wide DPS.
- IF you are not able to maintain melee damage, in some cases, switch to Midrange, this build should enable you to keep a pretty steady DPS, even if you cannot camp your GS|Sword. Not much to say here, as it's just a ranged version of the highest DPS.
- DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- For short fights = GS2-5 -> Swap
- GS/Sword | GS2 -> GS4 -> GS3 -> GS5 (If no CC needed) -> GS auto until GS2 is up -> GS2 -> Swap to sword -> Focus 4 -> Focus 5 (If no need for def) -> Sword auto until swap is available -> repeat GS and sword rotation
- GS/Mace | GS2 -> GS4 -> GS3 -> GS5 (If no CC needed) -> GS auto until GS2 is up -> GS2 -> Swap to Mace -> Mace2 -> Focus 4 -> Focus 5 (If no need for def) -> Mace auto until Mace2 is up -> Mace2 -> swap -> repeat GS and Mace rotation
- Scepter/Focus+Torch | Scepter2 → Focus5 → Focus4 → Torch4 → auto → Scepter2 → auto → Scepter2 → auto → Scepter2 → Torch5 → auto → Focus4 → auto → Scepter2
- Tiny notes
- Try to maintain [Trait-Virtues-Unscathed Contender] as much as possible, as it's very important, and is a huge boost to your DPS (makes a lot of difference).
- DO NOT spam random blocks, unless needed for the trait mentioned above, but still try to observe and time your blocks, as they can turn the DPS game around immensely.
- Take mace for weaker trash-mobs and for fights where you cannot hit well with sword (skill #1-chain#3 is sometimes very hard to land, so it's a loss in DPS).
- Whirling Wrath hits more than 9 times, if you stand inside the hitbox.
- Binding Blades hits multiple times, if you stand inside the hitbox and are surrounded by multiple mobs (all blades hit single target).
- Flashing Blades is a big DPS loss, so only use it, if you really need that extra blind, or if your team is lacking vulnerability.
- Zealot's Defense has nearly identical DPS to auto-attack, so keep it, for when you need defense against projectiles.
- When on melee weapons, if you have mobs in line, in front of you, and not very seperated, simply take off your targets and hit between the mobs, that will make you hit all the targets you previously couldn't.
- Use Purging Flames for either fire-field, or defensive purposes (removal of conditions). I personally use it, for when elementalists go into LH, so that we can keepup the additional might-time, but you may swap it out.
- Adjust accordingly.
Elementalist
- Required armour
- Armour: Berserker (only)
- Runes: Scholar (Full DPS S/F); Strength (Staff, Standard S/F)
- Required weapons
- Weapons: Berserker: Staff; Scepter; Dagger; Focus
- Sigils: Night+Force; Night+Slaying; Slaying+Force (Best DPS output)
- Builds
- Generic setup (Highest DPS output)
- Staff-Scepter+Focus-Dagger (depending on the team setup/engage)
- You should change builds accordingly and try not to have multiples of the same type, unless "required" of prefered.
- IMPORTANT : Elementalist is very crucial, as it brings fast and efficient party-wide DPS boost through might stacking. It requires the most "skill" to deliver it's full potential, so do not approach it lightly. NO QQ NO SLACK.

- Tiny notes
- You can swap [Trait-Air Magic-Air Training] for [Trait-Air Magic-Tempest Defense] (if you run it), as it goes well with Deep Freeze (Forst Bow skill #5). It's probably not useful in normal runs, but in coordinated team runs it can turn out to be pretty nice.
- You can also 5/4/0/5/0 (by taking "Damage Multipliers") for higher DPS, but only, if there's already an elementalist with Presisting Flames trait.
- Burning Retreat counts as a fire-field as well (It says so, but a lot of times people forget), as well as, it's an evade.
- In some cases, you might want to remove 2 in Air Magic and put it into Arcane Power for Trait-Blasting Staff.
- DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- For short fights, just take Lightning Hammer
- Staff | Stacking might | earth attunement -> S2 -> fire attunement -> S2 -> Arcane Brilliance (staff is pretty weak in this case) = 6 stacks of might + fury
- Staff | After might stacking | air attunement -> Glyph of Storms -> Conjure Frost Bow -> S5 (If CC needed) -> S4 -> Conjure Lightning Hammer -> S4 -> auto attack -> when no LH -> fire attunement S2 -> S5 -> auto attack. Use other elements for CC/Survivability purposes only.
- If you use use air training, instead of staying in fire, switch to lightning, while you are doing DPS with Frost Bow/Lightning Hammer. If you are using Internal Fire, try to maintain fire attunement when possible

- Tiny notes
- Use Air Attunement-Swirling Winds for defensive purposes
- Use Earth Attunement-Magnetic Wave for condi cleanse and Obsidian Flesh for either offense of defense
- Always DPS with Lightning Hammer, as without it your DPS is weak and scepter/focus skills are primarly used for blasting. Tell your team not to pick-up Lightning Hammer.
- DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- For short fights, just take Lightning Hammer
- Scepter/Focus | Stacking might | fire attunement (look into the ground and zoom out, or look into the air before casting S2(by moving mouse)) -> S2 -> S4 -> S3 -> earth attunement -> S4 -> Arcane Brilliance -> water attunement -> (look into the ground and zoom out, or look into the air before casting S5 (by moving mouse)) -> S5 = 15 stacks of might + fury
- Scepter/Focus | After might stacking | air attunement -> Glyph of Storms -> Conjure Frost Bow -> S5 (If CC needed) -> S4 -> Conjure Lightning Hammer -> S4 -> auto attack. LIGHTNING HAMMER IS YOUR ONLY FRIEND :(. -> kill time/DPS with air S1+S2
- Use other elements for CC/Survivability purposes. Stay in your chosen "Damage Multiplier" element and use blast rotation for either mid-fight might or healing (water fields)
- Other Utility variations and guides
- Swap between Staff | Scepter+Focus/Dagger; depending on the fight. If you are the single elementalist, just switch accordingly, if needed, and it should be enough. If there are two elementalists, just play seperate builds, and only switch to same weapon sets, if the engage requires you to.
- You can Arcane Wave for utility, for an extra blast, but that's about it. There's not much that an elementalist can change, unless you are going for specific tricks.
- Phoenix skill hits three times, if you stand in front of your target[s] and use the ground targeting of the skill behind your target[s]. Also note, it removes a condition and can save your life!
- As stated above, to stack might properly with Dragon's Tooth and Comet, simply turn your camera, either zoom out completely, as you look into the ground, or look up all the way into the sky from the bottom.
- Tiny universal elemenatlist notes
- When you are trying to use Ice Bow-Ice Storm; Glyph of Storms or Meteor Shower on your "small hitbox" target[s]; simply walk back until you are max. range of your target[s], then as you are about to use the skill (releasing the keyboard button for the skill), you press evade, and instead of having RNG hits from your skill, all the skills will be on your target[s] in a line, therefor increasing your DPS.
- You can use the same tip from above ^ , but with ceiling, which makes ALL the thingies fall down in a single line onto your target, dealing enormous damage.
- Magnetic Aura/Magnetic to reflect projectiles/defense.
- Take defensive Utilities only, if you know that you cannot handle the engage.
- There are not many skills that you'll want to switch out, as they will only slow down your DPS, and you are there to do highest DPS and be cool.
- When on LH, if you have mobs in line, in front of you, and not very seperated, simply take off your targets and hit between the mobs, that will make you hit all the targets you previously couldn't.
- Adjust accordingly.

- Other Utility variations and guides
- note, if you are in need of longer stealths, simply trait into 5/6/3/0/0, as the minor trait in Shadow Arts gives you longer stealth time. the utilities above showcase highest DPS, so for most cases, just switch them out and take skills like Smoke Screen/Scorpion Wire/Shadowstep/Dagger Storm/Basilisk Venom, but of course only, if you know that it will do better than the original setup.
- note, for longer fights, you might want to consider/try taking 6/6/2/0/0, and take Trait [V] Infusion of Shadow, as it allows you to be more agressive and can enable full DPS rotation.
- DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- For short short trash-mob fights, use Sword.
- For short single target veterans/elites/whatever, just stick to your Daggers
- Dagger/Sword+pistol Stealthing Method | Smoke Screen -> Blast or Shadow Refuge (Try to get everyone in)(SO HART!)
- Dagger/Sword+Pistol Blinding Method | Pistol -> S5 or Smoke Screen
- Dagger/Dagger | S5 -> auto attack until you can S5 again (note, you need to keepup revealed, for additional 200 POW., but wait for it to disappear, then S5 for backstab and repeat) -> auto attack -> repeat
- Sword/Pistol | pistol S5 -> sword S3 -> S3 -> if not dead yet pistol S5 -> sword S3
- Tiny notes
- Don't waste initiative on random stuff.
- Take Infiltrator's signet, for additional initiative, maybe in long fights, or to simply get the hang of things.
- note, you have to keepup revealed, as stated above, so in some cases, it's also good to simply drop down Shadow Refuge and attack from it (only if not needed), but the Cloack and Daggers rotation works just fine.
- Always pick up Ice Bows. If you are playing "bundle heavy", then you can consider changing trait [IX] Dagger Training for [VII] Improvisation.
- If you are playing mainly against trash-mobs, switch out [IX] Dagger training for [X] Combined Training.
- If you are running 6/6/0/0/2, means you are running [IV] Flanking Strikes, which also means, that you have to flank (simply stay at the side of the target[s] and attack).
- When on in melee, if you have mobs in line, in front of you, and not very seperated, simply take off your targets and hit between the mobs, that will make you hit all the targets you previously couldn't.
Warrior
- Required armour
- Armour: Berserker (If running max DPS); Assassin's mix (If running Might #@$&^)
- Runes: Besrerker (Scholar); Strength (If can't keep up Scholar/Might #@$&^)

- Crowbar: Slaying Potions (Undead, Inquest, Elemental, Dredge, Destroyer, Flame Legion, Nightmare, Svanir, Outcast, Toxic Alliance); Sharpening Stones; Maintenance Oils; Skale Venom
- If you are running Might #@$&^, get yourself some of that cactus nopale geode food.
- Some of this food is expensive, but most of it is not, so try to have as much as you can, as well as you need to consume them accordingly.
- Builds
- Generic setup (Highest DPS output/Might #@$&^ for perma 25 stacks of might)
- Full zerk : GS/Axe+Mace (longbow only if needed)
- Might #@$&^ : GS/GS (Yes, double GS)
- Warrior is a really nice class to have with you at all times, as it gives party-wide boosts with their banners and can take hits. It has a strong DPS, but it's mostly there for the banners. IF you are running Might #@$&^, note, you lose 50% of DPS, but you do bring constant 25 mignt stacks to the engage. so only use this one, if you are going for "casual" runs, or if it's somehow needed, since elementalists can/should keep that up.

- Tiny notes
- Use your (Sigil of Strength/Perception) GS on trash-mobs.
- On boss fights, use your (Sigil of Strength/Perception) GS's (hundered blades) to gain might quickly, then swap to your main Greatsword (Sigil of Night+Force) for the remaining fight.
- Learn to use Defiant Stance appropriately, as with combination with Endure Pain, it allows you to camp meleee for much longer than originally without, therefor keeping up the might stacks and DPS.
- Attack only with GS S1 and S2.
DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- Greatsowrd|Greatsword | GS (Sigil of Strength/Perception); S2 -> weapon swap -> S1 -> S1 > S1 > S1 > S1 > S1 ...... -> S2 ...... repeat (requires a lot of skill, so think about it, before approaching it)
- Tiny universal warrior notes
- note, always use banners on the side of the fire-field, while stacking might, as it annoys the #*@% out of people, as well as it can slow down the fight, when you overlap the picking up of ele's Conjured weapons.
- Never use Whirlwind Attack on Greatsword, unless you have mobs in a corner, or if you are chilled/crippled, or if AOE is required, as it doesn't do its full damage otherwise and it takes you away from the target[s], therfor reducing your overall DPS.
- When on in melee, if you have mobs in line, in front of you, and not very seperated, simply take off your targets and hit between the mobs, that will make you hit all the targets you previously couldn't.

- Tiny notes
- Frost Spirit is why ranger gets taken along on your RP adventues, so place it wisely. Note, that the effect has 1,000 range, therfor you can place is quite far away. DO NOT USE FROST SPIRIT SKILL UNLESS NECESSARY.
- When the fight is over and Frost Spirit is still up, simply switch out the skill for another spirit skill then back to Frost Spirit. Note, if you switch out for signets for example, it will share cooldowns, since you have your signet on cooldown.
- Your minor trait gives you a 10% damage multiplier if you are flanking, so try to attack your target[s] from the side/back.
- Your trait [I] Steady Focus trait gives you a 10% damage multiplier if your endurance is full, so do not evade unless really needed. Use sword skills for evades.

- Mesmer is a great class, for when it comes to speed runs, as portal play can provide with a lot of skipping and faster dungeon/fotm times. Its DPS is nothing too great for the team, and especially since you have to rely on A.I. (phantasms) for DPS, it can turn out a bit lame. It has Feedback though, which can turn the engages around, which is nice.

- Other Utility variations and guides
- For standard runs/engages, use DPS 0-2 builds. These builds revolve around phantasm/mantra play. Burst them, only if needed for a spike, or if you know that it will do well (Yes mesmer is mostly AFK class when it comes to damage).
- When support is needed, use Direct DPS & Reflects build. Feedback is your friend in this case. You can use it well with focus S5, to ball your mobs.
- You can use Mass Invisibility instead of Time Warp.. it might be needed for some skips.
- Take Null Field, if you are engaging heavy condition fights.
- You can trait [I] Far-Reaching Manipulations and combine it with Blink, for certain skips.
- Use Portal, if you are trying to teleport players (skips, resets, etc...).
- Use mantras accordingly, swap them in and out, depending on the situation.
- DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- Sword+Sword/Sword+Focus | sword+sword -> S5 -> weapon swap -> S5 -> weapon swap -> Signet of Ether -> S5 -> S1 -> S1 -> S1 -> S1 -> S1 -> S1 ..... around 12 times, then F1 for Mind Wrack -> Cast phantasms again, when possible -> S1 -> S1 ......
- Tiny notes
- Never burst your phantasms, since they are 40-60% of your DPS, as well you do more damage for each one activated (If running full DPS). Only burst close to the end of a fight, or if you see that your phantasms will die regardless.
- For survivability purposes, try timing Distortion accordingly.
- Use Blurred Frenzy only for defensive purposes, as it doesn't to much more damage than auto attack, as well as you use your healing skill for DPS, so it's good to have that extra evade, since you melee at all times.
- Use Greatsword, only if your team isn't going to fully melee.
- Time your Feedback , if playing with a guardian. Use it after Wall of Reflection runs out.
- Phantasm DPS 3x Swordsmen. Phantasmal Haste, 15% damage trait, Fury traited
- When on in melee, if you have mobs in line, in front of you, and not very seperated, simply take off your targets and hit between the mobs, that will make you hit all the targets you previously couldn't.

- Engineer has one of the highest DPS at the moment (3rd I believe) and has access to extreme AOE vulnerability, as well as lots of blasts, blind and CC. It's not usually ran in speed runs, but if you ever lack an elementalist, or if you don't require a guardian, and you do not need any kind of tricks with mesmer-portal-play, or ranger buffs, then engineer is probably the best choice. Either way, it's not @#$!, if you take one.

- Other Utility variations and guides
- You can take Bomb Kit, Useful for stealth skipping, as well as blinding trash mobs.
- Thumper Turret can be nice, gives you 3 blasts finishers, if used correctly.
- Elixir U can be nice for quickness and walls.
- Elixir R can be nice for AOE revive and extra endurance.
- DPS ROTATION (IMPORTANT!)
Showcase of DPS rotation, as you want to achieve best DPS output and avoid spamming random skills.
- Rifle | toolbelt -> Granade Barage -> flamethrower -> S4 -> S2 -> elexir gun -> S4 (weapon swap to rifle immediately, to avoid jumping backwards) -> rifle -> S3 -> S5 -> granade kit -> S4 -> S2 -> S1 -> S1 -> S1 -> S1 (Until S2 is recharged) -> S2 -> flamethrower -> S2 -> ... repeat
- Tiny notes
- You can use shield, for additional blasts, before engaging.
- If you feel weak and want to get better, try removing 2 traits from Tools to Alchemy and take [I] Invigorating Speed, as well as change [III] Infused Precision over [IX] Rifle Mod, as it will give you perma swiftness and almost perma vigor for surivability, but slight DPS loss.
- Just rotate DPS, that's how you will constantly stack vulnerability, there's not much you can do as an engineer at this point.
