====Illusion of Life====

* Focus on reviving allies who are far away with {{Skill|Illusion of Life}}, don't waste the skill on players that can be hand rezzed.

* Focus on reviving allies who are far away with {{Skill|Illusion of Life}}, don't waste the skill on players that can be hand rezzed.
** If you use the '''Allow Skill Retargetting''' and '''Instant Cast settings''', {{Skill|Illusion of Life}} will cast at the location your cursor is at the end of the cast, instead of where you initially targetted
+
* Normally {{Skill|Continuum Split}} should be saved for {{Skill|Gravity Well}}, but resetting {{Skill|Illusion of Life}} is also an acceptable use
* Your crowd control skills will strip boons with {{Trait|Vicious Expression}}
+

* Use your crowd control when your allies are spiking the enemy, such as inside a friendly Winds of Disenchantment or Necromancer Wells
+

* Always use {{Skill|Continuum Split}} when casting either {{Skill|Gravity Well}} or {{Skill|Illusion of Life}} to ensure a second cast of these vital skills
+
====Veil====
** While inside the split, use as many skills as possible such as {{Skill|Null Field}} and Shatter skills as the cooldowns reset
+
* Save your {{Skill|Veil}} for the commanders call
 +
** If you aren't using voice communication, use it as your group pushes into melee, avoid wasting it for a range spike
 +
* Place your {{Skill|Veil}} as close to the front of your group as possible without letting the line spawn on top of any allies
 +

 +

 +
====CC====
 +
* Use your CC when:
 +
** Your group calls a spike:
 +
*** Winds - {{Skill|Winds of Disenchantment}}
 +
*** Wells - {{Skill|Well of Corruption}}+{{Skill|Well of Suffering}}
 +
*** Shades - {{Skill|Desert Shroud}}
 +
*** Traps - {{Skill|Procession of Blades}}+{{Skill|Test of Faith}}
 +
** On top of enemy downs (while alive players are on top of them)
 +
** Enemy groups moving defensively while your group is pushing
 +
* Your CC skills also remove boons with {{Trait|Vicious Expression}}
 +
* Use {{Skill|Continuum Split}} when casting {{Skill|Gravity Well}} to reset the cooldown
 +
** Use {{Skill|Continuum Split}} while out of the way of enemy damage and pushes so you aren't brought back in an awkward spot or have your split ended early by damage
 +
** While inside the split, use as many skills as possible such as {{Skill|Null Field}} and '''Shatter''' skills as the cooldowns reset

** You can cast {{Skill|Continuum Split}} as another skill cast is finishing instead of before the cast to give yourself slightly more time in split

 +
* Use {{Skill|Temporal Curtain}} to pull targets into other CC and spikes, including your own {{Skill|Gravity Well}}
 +
** {{Skill|Temporal Curtain}} is particularly important when revenants range spike with {{Skill|Phase Smash}}
 +
* Use {{Skill|Illusionary Leap}} as your group pushes into the enemy or when trying to catch an enemy that is lagging behind
 +
** Do not put yourself out of position trying to use it

====Boon rip====
 +
* Your shatters ({{Skill|Split Second}}, {{Skill|Rewinder}} and {{Skill|Time Sink}}) proc {{Trait|Shattered Concentration}}
 +
** Since your shatters are melee range, use them when crossing through enemies
 +
*** Don't go out of your way to hit enemies with shatters if it would put you out of position
 +
* Land {{Skill|Null Field}} just before an allies spike when possible. Try to place it so one edge is on the enemy group and the other edge is in the direction they are moving

{{Collapse start|Boon rip skill priority}}
 +
* {{Skill|Time Sink}} - when in range and targets lack {{Tooltip|Stability}}, to proc {{Trait|Vicious Expression}}

====Supporting allies====
 +
* Make sure to cast your '''Phantasms''' as often as possible to proc {{Trait|Stretched Time}}
 +
** Be careful using {{Skill|Echo of Memory}} since it is valuable defensively
 +
** Use {{Skill|Signet of the Ether}} to reset your '''Phantasms''' cooldowns for more application
 +
* If possible, hit allies as well as enemies with {{Skill|Null Field}}, but prioritize enemies
 +
 +
 +
===Settings===
 +
*  Under '''General Options / Combat/Movement''' turn on '''Allow Skill Retargetting''' and  set '''Ground Targetting''' to '''Instant Cast''', this will make {{Skill|Illusion of Life}} cast at the location your cursor is at the end of the cast, instead of where you initially targetted
 +
* Under '''General Options / User Interface''' check '''Always show squad health bars''' and '''Always show party health bars'''. These will make it much easier to keep track of who needs your support
 +
* Also under '''General Options / User Interface''' turn on '''Thick party health bars''' and '''Thick squad health bars'''
 +
* Under '''Squad Options''' check '''View as a grid'''. This will allow you to keep track of your allies' health, enabling better decision-making and skill management
 +
 +
 +
===Tips & Tricks===
 +
====Wall Pulling====
 +
* Place {{Skill|Temporal Curtain}} at the lowest point of a wall that is horizontally in line with the top edge (But not further than 600 range on desert BL walls)
 +
** Since {{Skill|Into the Void}} activates in a radius, this will not reduce the range of your pull but will hide its position and increase the chance of pulling people off walls
 +
* Use {{Skill|Illusionary Leap}} {{to}} {{Skill|Swap}} to give {{Tooltip|Immobilize}} to pulled targets
 +
** It is easier if you pre target enemies likely to get pulled before casting {{Skill|Into the Void}}

===Crowd Control===

* {{Skill|Gravity Well}} strong CC and almost always a good choice to double with {{Skill|Continuum Split}}.

* {{Skill|Temporal Curtain}} pulls enemies towards the curtain. Use it to pull enemies into your groups spikes or your own {{Skill|Gravity Well}}

** Pull enemies from walls by placing the line at the base of the wall

* {{Skill|Tides of Time}} stuns foes, thus combines well with {{Sigil|Superior Sigil of Absorption}}, use at close range

* {{Skill|Illusionary Leap}} immobilizes a single target, useful when trying to catch an enemy that is lagging behind

===Boon Rip===
+
====Portal Bombing====
* {{Skill|Null Field}} Place on allied spikes and especially on melee clashes where both groups will be inside
+
* Portal bombing is a very high risk strategy and is never recommended
* Activate your shatters {{Skill|Split Second}}, {{Skill|Rewinder}} and {{Skill|Time Sink}} when crossing through enemies to proc {{Trait|Shattered Concentration}}
+
* Try to open {{Skill|Portal Exeunt}} behind terrain with respect to the enemy group if possible
** Try to save {{Skill|Time Sink}} for when enemies lack {{Tooltip|Stability}} to proc {{Trait|Vicious Expression}}
+
* Swap your skills to {{Skill|Blink}} {{Skill|Portal Entre}} and {{Skill|Veil}} and {{Skill|Mass Invisibility}}
 +
* Equip a torch for {{Skill|The Prestige}}
 +
** Optionally equip the '''Chaos''' traitline for {{Trait|Prismatic Understanding}}
 +
# Cast {{Skill|Portal Entre}} at your groups feet
 +
# Start running towards the location you want to open the portal
 +
# Use {{Skill|The Prestige}} while casting {{Skill|Mass Invisibility}}
 +
# Cast {{Skill|Blink}} at any time to get closer
 +
# Once in position open {{Skill|Portal Exeunt}}
 +
# Cast {{Skill|Veil}} directly on the center of the portal

Soldier198 gave this build 5 stars • July 2023
Support Chrono is still an essential build due to the irreplaceable utility provided by it (veil pushes, portal plays, illusions of life). It brings great CC, an excellent ranged, high boon stripping, and can be an excellent provider of stability with Mantra of Concentration.
5 stars
Barnabus gave this build 5 stars • October 2022
With the October updates, support chrono gains value with the reduction in stability from other classes, both due to its buffed access to stability as well as its cc capability. The additional utility provided (stealth, alacrity, rez) is all more relevant than ever.
5 stars
Arete gave this build 5 stars • June 2022
Support chrono has a pretty unique role as a utility bot without significant damage or healing. It isn't for everyone, but 1-3 per zerg is very important for the extremely powerful skills chrono has that are unique to it.
