Overview
Flamethrower Engineer is an incredible simple, reliable, farming build that can be played in a myriad of different ways and includes variants for every possible Engineer specialization. Scrapper is the default recommendation due to its very high uptime on Superspeed, however core engineer, mechanist, and holosmith can all be viable options for this build.

This is a farm build and does not feature high DPS. Instead it focuses on smooth, comfortable gameplay. If you are looking for a Scrapper build with high DPS, instead try Build:Scrapper_-_Power_Scrapper or Build:Holosmith_-_Sword_Holo

Variants
Always keep Flamethrower. If using Scrapper, Gyros are essential to providing Superspeed and it is not recommended to replace them.

Mechanist
* Use Rectifier Signet, Barrier Signet, Shift Signet, and Overclock Signet.

* Use Rifle, Pistol/Pistol, or Pistol/Shield.

Holosmith
* For Defense, use Elixir H, Rocket Boots, Spectrum Shield, and Prime Light Beam

* For Condi DPS, use Elixir H, Grenade Kit, Bomb Kit, and Prime Light Beam

Core Engineer
* Use Elixir H, Elixir U, Elixir B, and Elite Mortar Kit.

Generic Options
These replacements are not unique and can be used regardless of specialization.

* Rocket Boots - fun mobility tool

* Utility Goggles - fantastic stunbreak and defensive tool

* Many of the Elixirs are very potent, explore some you like!

Build Keystones
+

The core of all of these builds features Tools and Firearms. Firearms is absolutely essential to this build due to Juggernaut's synergy with Flamethrower. Tools provides us with addition tagging and dodges through Static Discharge and Adrenal Implant. Streamlined Kits can be taken for additional Swiftness uptime, which synergizes with Superior Rune of Speed, or Takedown Round can provide us with a small boost to DPS.

Realistically, Tools can be replaced by virtually any other Engineer Specialization. Feel free to explore other options. If you do drop tools, you will lose access to Streamlined Kits, so be sure to keep Superior Sigil of Speed on your gear.

Scrapper
Scrapper is the best default spec here as it provides us with significant Superspeed uptime, which can be fantastic in a zerg farm. It's also got good passive defense through its barrier generation and, most importantly, provides us with permanent Stability via Applied Force.

* Kinetic Accelerators can be taken for permanent Quickness uptime on yourself and nearby allies. This sacrifices our permanent Stability but can feel very good to use.

* Adaptive Armor can provide significant damage reduction at the cost of Stability.

Mechanist
;Build Code: [&DQMmFhUlRjsNGwAACxsAABAbAACTAQAACRsAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=]

Mechanist is another very strong choice, as the Jade Mech can be a powerful ally in open world. Mechanist lacks the superspeed of scrapper but gains a strong companion that can tank enemies in open world.

Holosmith
;Build Code (Defensive): [&DQMmFhUlOT8UAQAAjQEAAC8WAACTAQAA8BUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=]

;Build Code (Condi DPS): [&DQMGKiYZOT8UAQAABwEAAIYAAACTAQAA8BUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=]

Holosmith is notably less effective than the other options, but when combined with high DPS condi gear such as Viper and played correctly (See Build:Holosmith_-_Condi_Holo it can output incredible DPS to bosses while maintaining a comfortable, laid back playstyle when mobile in the zerg.

Core Engi (Alchemy)
;Build Code: [&DQMmFh0eFSUUAQAAXwEAAAEBAACTAQAAmAEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=]

Core Engineer can fulfill the same playstyle as its elite specs, but instead uses Engineer's powerful Gadgets and Elixirs combined with the Alchemy traitline for an easy, defensive build.

* The stats used here are not particularly important, and other stats such as Berserker, Viper, Marauder, Diviner can be used. If looking for a very cheap option, use Berserker named gear from the TP. What's important is that the set provides both Crit Chance and Power.
+
* Any stats with both Crit Chance and Power can be used in place of Celestial, such as Knight, Berserker, Dragon stats, or Viper. For very cheap gear, run Berserker.
* Other sigils can replace Speed if you proc Streamlined Kits off cooldown, such as Superior Sigil of Luck or Superior Sigil of Stamina.

DPS Equipment
If you are looking for a build that sacrifices some comfort for dealing proper damage while still retaining access to Flamethrower, see Build:Holosmith_-_Condi_Holo, Build:Scrapper_-_Power_Scrapper, or Build:Mechanist_-_Condition_Mechanist.

A classic farm build that the community absolutely adores, this build is very gear-agnostic and works with just about anything you decide to use. It's great for tagging, works with every engineer spec, and the scrapper option has permanent superspeed for yourself and some allies, making it extremely comfortable for open world.
