The Bow is one of the best weapons for beginners and one of the most versatile weapons in the game capable of being played in all kinds of PvP scenarios. It's ease of use makes it the perfect weapon for new PvP players while remaining a rewarding weapon when mastered.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Bow
Multishot — This not only does a quick burst of damage in a cone AOE in front of you, but it also knocks back enemies hit by it. With it's low cooldown, you want to make sure to use this to help you kite alongside Frost Shot. Keep in mind that this ability has a short cast time and you cannot move during it. The knockback will also interrupt targets so its perfect for countering enemies that channel skills.
Another option for higher DPS would be Poisoned Arrow if you need to take out a healer or another ranged DPS.
Frost Shot — Another great kiting ability, the Frost Shot knocks YOU back a good distance while doing damage and slowing down enemies. While the damage is negligible, the mobility provided by this ability is excellent!
Feel free to also switch to Explosive Arrows for the extra damage if you are facing a healer as this will offer much better DPS but way less mobility.
Enchanted Quiver — For the E ability you have Enchanted Quiver which increases your auto-attack speed but also loads up 6 enchanted arrows that are shot when you auto-attack a target. These arrows have increased damage and can be seen as a buff under your healthbar. You can use this ability again to charge up 4 more arrows and also dash in a 6 meters radius around you.
HOWEVER, keep in mind that your damage will be decreased if an enemy player is near you when you do this so try to use Frost Shot to move away first. A ring will appear around you while Enchanted Quiver is active and your goal should always be to keep away from enemies during that time so your damage isn't decreased.
Piercing Arrows — Each auto-attack will decrease the defenses of enemies you hit, this will help with burning down enemies as it stacks up to 4 seconds and its perfect with the auto-attack heavy weapon used in this build.
Elder's Mercenary Jacket
Bloodlust — Your main sustain ability and the way you can heal yourself on top of using a Major Healing Potion. This helps a lot with surviving while you kite. You should always try to pair Bloodlust with Enchanted Quiver as it allows you to heal up much faster due to the increased attack speed.
Balanced Mind — This passive not only increases your damage output but also provides a slight defense boost. Since every bit of damage matters for this build, this is a good choice.
Elder's Hunter Hood
Retaliate — One of the most popular defensive skills in the game, Retaliate increases your damage resistance for a short duration while also reflecting 85% of incoming damage back to the attacker. Use this in order to reflect high damaging spells like Deathward Climax, Death Curse or Pyroblast
Balanced Mind — This passive increases your damage which pairs well with the weapon.
Elder's Knight Boots
Shield Charge — You want to use this over Rejuvenating Sprint as it offers a large shield to yourself while also making you leap to the target you use this one. It helps greatly when you are facing an enemy with high burst damage as it can negate a lot of it with ease.
Elder's Guardian Boots are another good choice as they provide a max HP increase with Giant while Elder's Soldier Boots can provide good extra mobility that will help with kiting.
Toughness — This defensive option is preferred for a bit of extra defence but you can use Courier if you need more weight.
Elder's Thetford Cape
Chain Lightning — Your cape activates on itself and deals damage to whatever target you hit with your auto-attack every time the cooldown is up. The lightning spreads out to other targets though so be careful as it might hit mobs and pull aggro onto you or trigger corrupted dungeon traps/bats.
Rotations
- You want to generally start off a fight using Shield Charge to catch up on the target and force them to use cooldowns getting rid of your shield. Use Multishot to start up the DPS followed by Enchanted Quiver then use Frost Shot for a bit of extra damage while also propelling you away into a better position to kite. Continue auto-attacking and use Multishot before activating Bloodlust if the enemy managed to take away some of your HP. Your second activation of Enchanted Quiver will help with maxing out the healing from Bloodlust!
Consumables
Major Healing Potion — The potion allows you to sustain yourself while trading damage with your enemies alongside using Bloodlust.
Beef Stew — This is the best food to use as it improves your overall damage. Always try to use an 8.2 or 8.1 version as it as it offers great value for minimum price.
