Shadowcaller Support Group PvE Build
Strengths
- Easy to play
- Great Support
Weaknesses
- Low Mobility
Overview
This Elder's Shadowcaller build acts as a support and a great choice for players that are new to the game and are looking to play something easy while also remaining useful in a PvE Group. The build performs well in Group Dungeons, Avalonian Dungeons, Hardcore Expeditions and Static Dungeons. Your focus remaining supporting your team while DPS is secondary even though the build still does decent DoT damage.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Shadowcaller
Cursed Sickle — Use this after your tank pulled a group of mobs in order to apply Vile Curse Charges on the mobs, keep in mind that you can apply 2 charges every cast time as the skill acts like a boomerang, applying curses each time it hits an enemy.
Armor Piercer — This is your main support ability as its used to strip enemies of their defenses, helping your team deal extra damage to clump of mobs. Make sure to aim it so it touches all enemies every pull!
Inner Shadow — Because you use Elder's Royal Jacket, you want to cast this on yourself to summon a ghost dealing AOE damage wherever you cast the ability while also healing yourself. Use this after you've already weakened the mobs by using Rotten Ground.
Energetic — This passive will help with your mana sustain as every auto-attack will restore mana.
Elder's Royal Jacket
Royal Banner — Make sure to position yourself near the DPS players in your team in order to improve their cooldown rate and improve overall group DPS. This skill also does the same for you but to a lesser degree (30% instead of 50%).
Quick Thinker — As damage isn't a priority, you want to use this to lower your cooldowns!
Elder's Specter Hood
Flash of Insight — This skill is used to reset your Royal Banner so you can use Royal Banner more often. Keep in mind that it has a short cast time that can be interrupted so stay away from mobs while you cast this.
Quick Thinker — Another great choice for you as it lowers your cooldown times.
Elder's Cultist Sandals
Rotten Ground — Use this ability and then move within the group of mobs once your tank pulled in order to strip defenses off all mobs that are caught by the ability, make sure to move around a bit in order to properly spread the Rotten Ground so it affects even the mobs that move out.
Aggression — This passive increases your damage, useful for the DoT damage you do as there aren't better options.
Elder's Lymhurst Cape
Energy Reserve — As the build can be rather mana intensive due to relatively low cooldowns, this will help a lot with mana sustain when coupled with Energetic and your Major Energy Potion. It triggers automatically once your energy reaches 40% and restores 80% of your max energy over a short time.
Rotations
- Start off your rotation by applying the first curse stack with Cursed Sickle before using Armor Piercer while you wait for the Cursed Sickle to return to you and apply the second curse. Move into the group of mobs and use Rotten Ground before you use Inner Shadow on yourself (alt + E). Move out of the group of mobs after that and use Royal Banner on top of wherever your DPS players are. Finally, use Flash of Insight to reset your Royal Banner cooldown.
Consumables
Major Energy Potion — Because the build is rather mana hungry, you want to use some sort of energy potion. Its best to use a t6 one as it offers 50% max mana regen coupled with 28% more over 7 seconds. Keep in mind that this potion ALSO lowers your cooldowns!
Pork Omelette — This helps the most as it lowers your cooldowns and lets you use Armor Piercer and Rotten Ground more often. Try to use a 7.1 version if you can afford it!
