Overview
This PvP build focuses on Elder's Warbow's good kiting potential and high damage of the Magic Arrow. While the simple gameplay can be appealing to newer players, the Elder's Warbow remains a great weapon even for more experienced players that are looking to master it. A good player would shine using this and the outplay potential remains high, offering an all-around enjoyable experience while remaining a powerful 1v1 weapon.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Warbow
Poisoned Arrow — In order to maximize kiting potential, the Poisoned Arrow offers great Damage over Time with minimum mobility loss. Try to always keep the Poisoned Arrow debuff active on your target and slowly chip away at their HP as you kite.
If you want a more aggressive choice, then Multishot is also a pretty good option for the knock back that also interrupts enemies.
Frost Shot — Your other important kiting ability, the Frost Shot makes you leap back a good distance while doing damage and slowing down enemies. While the damage is negligible, the mobility provided by this ability is excellent and helps you remain far enough from your enemy that they cannot apply damage.
Feel free to also switch to Explosive Arrows for the extra damage if you are facing a healer. They usually don't have a lot of mobility and that for you have an easier time kiting them even without using Frost Shot.
Magic Arrow — The damage of this ability is increased based on the time the arrow flies. This means that you should always use this when you are kiting away and while maintaining the correct range from your target can be challenging, a bit of practice will go a long wa.
Piercing Arrows — Each auto-attack will decrease the defenses of enemies you hit, this will help with dealing damage whenever you aren't fully kiting an opponent.
Elder's Assassin Jacket
Ambush — This ability offers you stealth that can be used in various ways. You can use the stealth to disengage from losing fights or simply to boost your damage as staying in stealth will increase your damage for a short duration after leaving stealth. Keep in mind though that going out of the circle will also break your stealth.
Balanced Mind — This passive not only increases your damage output which makes perfect sense.
Elder's Cowl of Purity
Avalonian Beam — This long range beam of energy deals high damage on impact but also an equal amount over time to the same target, this is a great choice as it boosts your DPS without forcing you to get too close to your enemy. You can easily pair this with your Magic Arrow for a quick burst of damage.
Aggression — This passive increases your damage which is perfect for the weapon.
Elder's Soldier Boots
Rejuvenating Sprint — While there are many other options, Elder's Soldier Boots is a great choice as it offers healing and can be found in many other builds too. You can also use the Wanderlust ability instead for a run with a longer duration even though it takes a bit extra time to ramp up.
Toughness — This defensive option is preferred for a bit of extra defense but you can use Courier if you need more weight in case you are carrying loot.
Elder's Undead Cape
Vanisher — Once your HP drops below 15%, you will enter stealth (you are still able to use your abilities in this stealth but your damage is decreased by 50%). You should make use of this as a last resort in order to reposition away from the enemy or disengage entirely when coupled with Ambush. You can see if its available by looking under your character name, if there is a cloak icon, then the cloak was activated previously.
Rotations
- After your dismount, you want to use Poisoned Arrow while feeling out the fight. Most players would use a run to try and close the distance and thats when you should pop your Frost Shot on them coupled with Magic Arrow and even possibly use Avalonian Beam if they keep b-lining for you. The Magic Arrow and Avalonian Beam are your main damaging skills for this build while Poisoned Arrow is a DoT you should aim to always have up on your target so they slowly lose HP while trying to catch you.
Naturally, use Frost Shot to help with your kiting.
Consumables
Major Healing Potion — The potion allows you to sustain yourself while trading damage with your enemies while you kite, try to keep a few as certain matchups can last longer.
Pork Omelette — Lowering your cooldowns helps you a lot with kiting and dealing damage between auto-attacks, try to use at least a 7.1 version of this though as the price difference isn't all that high.
