Overview
This Elder's Deathgivers build focuses on delivering quick burst damage taking enemies by surprise after a brief setup. It performs very well in solo Mists, Corrupted Dungeons and Open World PvP by having great mobility and the ability to deal high damage with relatively low cooldowns and making use of good versatility against most popular builds. While it takes a bit of practice, the build isn't exceedingly difficult to pull off once you've mastered the idea behind it so even newer players can enjoy playing this build.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Deathgivers
Sunder Armor — This ability should be used while brawling enemies, it is important to get 3 Sunder Armor Charges on enemies before you use Ghost Strike so the cooldown on the skill resets and you can use it a second time. This skill also lowers enemy defenses!
Chain Slash — Use this as one of your gap closing abilities but keep in mind that it can hit multiple enemies and might position you badly. Try to focus this only on one target and use it to close the distance if an enemy player tries to move away or kite. Once you've mastered the ability, you can also use this to negate damage as the charge makes you immune to damage and invisible for the short duration but it requires great timing to pull off.
Ghost Strike — This is the main damage of the build and should be first used once you've stacked 3 Sunder Armor Charges on your target by using Sunder Armor. Doing so will reset the cooldown of Ghost Strike and also lower all mana costs for 3 seconds, allowing you to use the skill again for a reduced mana cost.
Deep Cuts — This is a constant bleed you apply when auto-attacking enemies and the damage really ramps up as you keep doing it.
Elder's Mage Robe
Purging Shield — Use this skill to apply a damage resistance increasing buff. Any enemy attacking you while this skill is active will also have all their buffs purged. This is very efficient at purging sword Heroic Charges or even skills like Focused Run triggered by your enemies.
Aggression — With the goal of the build being to do as much damage as possible, this skill is an easy choice to make.
Elder's Duskweaver Helmet
Spider's Thread — This skill is made out of 2 parts, first cast will launch a web that attaches to an enemy and deals a bit of damage. Casting the skill again will pull you towards the enemy hit and slow them by a bit. Use this to keep closing the gap between yourself and enemies if they try to kite you off or you need to keep up with their superior mobility.
Toughness — The passive gives you a bit more damage resistance and its the only one worth taking.
Elder's Assassin Shoes
Swift Cut — Yet another mobility skill to keep up with enemies, this skill will dash you to a nearby enemy and also deal damage to them. Use this as often as possible to maximize your damage output and remain close to your target.
Balanced Mind — This passive also increases your damage by a bit.
Elder's Caerleon Cape
Opportunist — The skill activates on its own when you use your Sunder Armor, allowing you to use it again and apply a secondary Sunder Armor Charge which makes it easier for you to reach 3 charges and use Ghost Strike.
The Elder's Undead Cape is also a good choice if you are looking for more survivability as it grants you access to stealth whenever your HP drops low.
Rotations
- Start off with Swift Cut to close the distance to your enemy and also deal damage. Use Chain Slash to damage them again before using Sunder Armor two times thanks to Opportunist. Use Purging Shield while Sunder Armor is on cooldown so you boost your defensive then use 2 casts of Ghost Strike to deal high damage to your target and possibly kill them.
Consumables
Major Gigantify Potion — Use this when trading damage with your enemies, you want to usually use this when your abilities as on cooldown and you need to wait but you can also use this to soak high damage skills like Deathward Climax
Beef Stew — The damage increase from the Beef Stew is hard to beat and helps a lot when you are brawling your enemies. Use the 8.1 or 8.2 versions if you can afford it!
