Weaknesses
- Average Mobility
Overview
This Elder's Battleaxe build focuses on dealing high damage over time through bleeds but also offering good AOE damage and self-healing through the use of Blood Bandit. This build can punch well above it's weight, being capable of clearing high tier dungeons with ease while remaining easy enough to play that even new players can do well with little practice.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Battleaxe
Rending Rage — You want to use this to damage down mobs with the 3 skills combo while applying Rending Bleed Charges on your targets. You can also use the third cast of Rending Rage to root them so you have an easier time hitting Blood Bandit. You should always try to keep as many Rending Bleed Charges as possible on targets as the bleeding damage quickly ramps up.
Raging Blades — Using this AOE ability will help you boost up your damage for a short duration but enough to use Blood Bandit. Enemies with low HP can also be straight-up killed by this ability. Try to always hit as many enemies as possible when using this skill so the stacks go up fast.
You can also change to Adrenaline Boost or Deadly Chop on bosses to help with your DPS.
Blood Bandit — This is what you should use for both damage and to heal yourself during boss fights. Keep in mind that the damage it deals and the healing you receive is based on how many Rending Bleed Charges you've applied so try to apply 3 before using this skill.
Deep Cuts — This will help a lot with your single target DPS as the bleeds stack up nicely.
Elder's Stalker Jacket
Electric Field — As your main goal with this build remains AOE damage, the Electric Field is great especially when combined with Raging Blades, making the combination great for dealing with entire rooms of enemies.
Aggression — You get a good damage increase from this passive, is a great choice.
Elder's Scholar Cowl
Energy Shield — With this build being quite mana hungry, using Energy Shield helps a lot with keeping it all under control. Use this before mobs damage you. Each hit taken while this ability is active will grant you energy. You only need a few hits to regain your entire energy bar.
Aggression — Another damage increasing passive which is good to have in this build.
Elder's Scholar Sandals
Energetic Sprint — While Energy Shield is a good ability for mana regeneration, Energetic Sprint offers great mana regen as well whenever you use a run. However, you can use any other boots you might need to fame up and the results won't change much.
Aggression — The standard choice for DPS builds. Remember that you can always switch to Courier so you can carry more items.
Elder's Thetford Cape
Chain Lightning — The cape offers great AOE damage on a low cooldown by simply using your auto-attacks. Keep in mind that the lightning hits mobs in range at random and you should be careful not to pull too many mobs.
Another option would be Elder's Avalonian Cape as it creates an explosion that deals almost double the damage as an AOE but has double the cooldown of the Elder's Thetford Cape and isn't limited to only 4 mobs like Chain Lightning. Keep in mind however that Elder's Avalonian Cape is also generally more expensive.
Rotations
- Your main combo throughout the dungeons is going to be the combination of Raging Blades and Electric Field along with Rending Rage to apply bleeds and prepare targets for your Blood Bandit. Always try to align mobs in a line for an easier time using Blood Bandit as the skill travels in a straight line. And of course, don't use Blood Bandit unless you have a few Rending Bleed Charges on your targets.
Consumables
Major Poison Potion — A 4.0 poison is the best choice as it deals increased damage to bosses and increases the damage you do, this will help a lot with killing bosses with large HP pools. You can keep a few 8.0 ones in your inventory as well in case you stumble upon a particularly difficult boss.
Cabbage Soup — The Cabbage Soup helps a lot with your health regen problems. Even though mobs will likely die before they can hurt you properly, the Cabbage Soup will heal you between rooms and help you keep going without pausing.
