Overview
This PvP build focuses on the 1vs1 potential of the Elder's Arcane Staff. The Elder's Arcane Staff acts as a perfect choice for new players looking to start playing Arcane Staffs. This build performs well in both mists and corrupted dungeon thanks to its versatility and the ability to fight and win versus many of the popular builds.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Arcane Staff
Chain Missile — This long range ability is the bread and butter of the build as it offers decent damage but also applies an Arcane Charge on the first target you hit. You want to use this ability on cooldown followed by a quick auto-attack to trigger the Arcane Charge and detonate it to deal damage.
Enigma Blade — This ability deals great damage from up-close but also triggers the opportunity to cast another ability. The second part of the Enigma Blade will allow you to teleport, helping a lot with your ability to kite.
Arcane Orb — You want to use this ability to purge enemies but also deal damage. The best use for this is against sword users to purge their Heroic Charges but there are also other important abilities you should purge like the Life Steal Aura.
Lingering Power — Every time you cast a spell, your auto-attack speed and range increases for the next 3 times you auto-attack. This is fantastic for the build as you can spam Chain Missile every 3 seconds in order to keep this buff up!
Elder's Mercenary Jacket
Bloodlust — You want to use this right after using an ability in order to improve your auto-attack speed and allow you to make use of the Lingering Power passive. Keep in mind that you should do 7 auto-attacks to make full use of the Bloodlust and regain the most HP.
Balanced Mind — This passive not only increases your damage output which makes perfect to have on the build.
Elder's Hunter Hood
Retaliate — This is a good defensive option as Retaliate increases your damage resistance for a short duration while also reflecting 85% of incoming damage back to the attacker. Use this in order to reflect high damaging spells like Death Curse, Pyroblast or Snipe Shot.
Balanced Mind — This passive simply increases your raw damage.
Elder's Soldier Boots
Rejuvenating Sprint — This is a great choice as it offers you valuable HP regen while also offering you good mobility.
Toughness — This defensive option is preferred for a bit of extra defence but you can use Courier if you need more weight.
Elder's Thetford Cape
Chain Lightning — This will activate with your auto-attacks and can hit up to 4 targets near the initial target you hit. The 15 seconds cooldown makes it a great choice for this build as it allows it to proc multiple times throughout a fight.
Rotations
- You should focus on always using Chain Missile as often as possible in order to apply Arcane Charges on your target and make use of the Lingering Power. Chain this with auto-attacks in order to burn down your target's HP. Follow up with Enigma Blade as it deals high damage and allows you to teleport away so you can use Chain Missile again coupled with auto-attacks. While Arcane Orb doesn't do as much damage, it can be very useful for the purge you can apply on your target in order to remove beneficial effects.
Consumables
Major Healing Potion — The potion allows you to sustain yourself while trading damage with your enemies while you kite and fight your enemies.
Deadwater Eel Stew — You want to use this food as it offers a mix of damage increase and cooldown rate. Because of how expensive the t8 version is, you should consider using a 6.1 version that offers almost the same benefits for roughly half the price.
